Aroon is getting along with all the students in school. He is a very smart student with always good grades. He was loved by everyone in the class and every teacher's.
Kongpob went to pick up Aroon from class. He noticed that his son is acting different today than any other days. Kongpob was worried why his son is behaving like this, it was not at all like his Aroon. Aroon would talk about his day at school when Kongpob was driving him home but today he was quite. Kongpob got really worried about his son, he tried to make conversation with the boy. "Aroon, son how was your day at school?" Kongpob asked his son in a sweet voice and a smile on his face. Aroon looked at his mommy uncomfortably by hearing the question. "Uhhh.... School was .....n...nice mommy" Aroon said with uncertainty. Kongpob was surprised to hear an answer like that from his son. Kongpob let out a sigh. Kongpob placed his hand on his son's soft palms. "Son you know that you can tell anything to mommy right?" Kongpob asked his son still eye on the road and occasionally looking at his son. He saw Aroon nodding his head. "If there is any problem tell it to Mommy or Daddy okay? We will help you in it, okay son?" Kongpob said in his motherly voice full of encouragement and concern. Aroon forced a smile on his face and nodded "Yes Mommy I will tell you if I have any trouble" Aroon replied to his Mommy. Kongpob smiled at his son but he knew something was bothering his son because he noticed the forced to smile on Aroon's face. Kongpob decided to wait for his son to tell the reason, he didn't want to push Aroon to answer him.
Kongpob got more worried when Aroon started to go to his room as soon as they entered their house. Aroon usually starts to run to the garden and play in the swing for the first 5 minutes until Kongpob ask him to take shower, but today it was different. Kongpob sighed he didn't know what to do. But he planned to wait a little longer for Aroon to say what was bothering him.
Aroon was in his room sitting on his bed while he had a paper in his hand. Aroon was sniffing silently in the room. "Mommy would scold me if I show this to him" Aroon Sid to himself wiping away his tears. "But what can I do? If I will not get parents sign then teacher would scold me" Aroon said as he tried to convince himself from the reality that he would get scolding from his parents. Aroon sighed silently wiping his tears, he decided to tell this to his mommy. He know that he would be getting scolded by his parents. Still without any sure that he should go or not he took a deep breath and decided to face the consequences.Aroon came down to find his mommy arranging the book shelf carefully. Aroon gulped as his and Kongpob's eyes met. Kongpob smiled at his son warmly "What happened son? Why didn't you change your cloths? And....what is in your hand?" Kongpob asked in a soft voice. He could see the fear and tension in his son's eyes that made Kongpob confused is he scared of me? Kongpob asked to himself. He saw Aroon coming forward with his small long legs. Aroon averted his gaze from his mommy as he handed out the white paper in his hand to Kongpob. "Teacher told to sign it and bring tomorrow Mommy" Aroon said in a voice from which you could clearly find the fear. Kongpob had a small smile on his face as he took the paper from his son's hand. Aroon gulped hard as he saw the small smile disappear from his Mommy's face, he was sure he was going to get beaten up. "I am sorry mommy.*sniff* I forgot that today we had a test paper*sniff* and so I didn't study that lesson. *Sniff*I am sorry for making you disappointed Mommy *sniff*Sorry" Aroon said shattering in middle.
Now Kongpob understood what was bothering his son for this whole time. Kongpob smiled and knelt down to his son. "Aroon look at me son" Kongpob said softly. Aroon was surprised by his mommy's voice, he looked up at his mommy and found that he was smiling softly at him. "Aroon, no need to apologize to me son. You did a great job, it is okay. Mommy is not angry with you" Kongpob said as he caressed his son's head. Aroon blinked his eyes hearing the unexpected words from his parent. "But Mommy I only got 5 out of 10" Aroon reasoned to his Mommy. Kongpob chuckled hearing it. He kissed Aroon's forehead "Aroon, son. It is not necessary to always score full mark or one mark less every time in exams. That doesn't mean that you should not try too. This time your mark lowered because you forgot that today there was a class text, it is not your mistake it is okay. It is just a class test, compensate it when it comes to the real exam okay" Aroon nodded and smiled to his mommy , this time genuinely. Kongpob smiled and hugged his son. "So this was the reason you were upset huh? Do you know how Mommy was worried seeing your dull face?" Kongpob spoke to his son in a worried tone. " I am sorry mommy for making you sad. I will not repeat it" Aroon said and kissed his mommy's cheeks. Kongpob smiled and hugged his son. "No sorry son. It is okay as what Mommy said. You never failed to make us proud, this is only one time and it was also not purposely. It is okay, Mommy can understand you" Kongpob said as he kissed his son's forehead.
Aroon was doing his homework with the help of his Mommy in the living room. It was always like this whenever Aroon had difficulty in doing his homework, Kongpob would help his son to do it and if on weekends it would be Arthit who does it. The door bell rang interrupting the studies that Kongpob and Aroon was doing. "It must be Daddy!!" Aroon said as he rushed to the door. He opened the door and found his Daddy standing with his briefcase in one hand. Aroon hugged his Daddy. Arthit' smiled and took Aroon in his arms "How was your day today Aroon?" Arthit asked his son as Kongpob took the briefcase from his husband's hand gave a quick peck on his cheeks. Aroon smiled at his Daddy "It was great!!" Aroon replied.
Kongpob was happy that his son didn't hide what was inside him. Kongpob was really surprised to see such mark from his son, it was really a surprise since Aroon always scored full mark and always made them proud. But when he heard the reason why his son scored such low mark made him think how freely Aroon talks with him without leaving any detail. He was not upset with Aroon's marks rather than that he was glad that his son didn't hide anything from him.
He wished his son would say any problem to him or Arthit even if it is small or big. He prayed that what he is fearing will never come to Aroon's life and if so too he would tell them.
