it was simply another day that was going to be nice, doing what i love with my best friend, uraraka. i walked down the street that became increasingly more crowded as time went on. the first thing i noticed was that the 'for sale' sign in the window of the building across the street was gone. it gave me excitement to know that there was gonna be someone else around here.
"hey, deku!" i heard an all-too-familiar voice as i spun around. none other than uraraka-san. i smiled as i waited for her in front of the shop. we ran a bakery together and it was doing fantastically well! as a kid i looked up to all might so much that i even based a cupcake off him. we specialize in hero cakes, as uraraka and i both aspired to be heroes one day. unfortunately, we didn't make it, as uraraka's quirk was a bit difficult for her to handle and mine really posing no threat. simple pyromancy is all, my father could breathe fire and my mother could levitate small objects towards her but the two mixed into whatever i had. but that's alright because we're perfectly happy with what we do.
"ready to start another day!?" she asked me happily.
"of course!" i replied cheerily before fumbling with the keys for a second. the door to the shop had opened and the typically sweet smell wafted through as ingredients in the back had seemed to get in the front of the store. the overhead bell rung as we entered and uraraka-san chuckled before she said,
"kon'nichiwa!" she said cheerily, as if she were talking to the shop itself which made me smile. now that i think about it, this place is like a second home. not to mention that my mother does come to check in on us a lot of the time. sometimes she brings extra sugar or flour without even being asked to. i began to head to the back before looking back at the building across from us. how long had it been sold?
"uraraka-san?"
"yeah?" she was already in the back with the normal dark blue apron we had ordered. it was nice to have something made special for you.
"when did the building across the street get sold?" i ask, before continuing through the small building to our break room, which was kinda just where we stored things we didn't use, and where our aprons were. we had really no use for the break room as we didn't need it. i took the apron that i usually take and begun to put it on as uraraka-san spoke.
"maybe last week? they should start putting stuff up and setting things up soon." she said with a shrug before leaning against the doorframe.
"exciting." i say with a smile before walking out and flipping the lights on in the small, yet efficient kitchen.
"time to start the day, uraraka-san!"
