it was about two weeks since our first interaction. the bakery was oddly busy so it was difficult to visit them, but we had finally opened. not much luck though, but midoriya and uraraka managed to find a way here. our door's bell chimes as the two entered. i was in the back green room (our kinda greenhouse thing) while hagakure finished ordering seeds from catalogs.
"... chilly. i gue..."
"yeah, ...old on."
hagakure came from around the corner to find me.
"hey, todoroki-kun! our favorite bakers are here!" she said cheerfully as i looked back at her.
"alright, give me a moment." i told her, navigating around a few flowerbeds. pink and green carnations waited on their own little bed. i looked around and took the shears from another little bed, assuming hagakure forgot them there. it was a clean cut and i took the stems with me before going to the separate room that connected the little greenhouse and shop. there was the stuff to get bouquets ready, with the paper.
"shouto-kun... cold?" it sounded more like midoriya had said it but i wasn't paying much attention. i came into the main room with the carnation bouquet and the both of them seemed happy to see me, as midoriya's eyes lit up a bit.
"the flowers." i said before handing them to him. he was a tad flustered while uraraka smiled beside him.
"this w-wasn't really needed." he protested as he looked up at me,
"you can't really change his mind when it comes to things like this." hagakure commented, approaching my side. i gave a joking eye roll before smiling.
"i assume she's correct, never really thought about myself like that." i said before uraraka put her hand on midoriya's shoulder.
"that's alright shouto-kun. it's not really a bad thing if you have your mind set on something." she said reassuringly before taking one of the pink carnations from the bouquet. midoriya nodded before looking at the flowers.
"say, are these based on me and uraraka-san?" he asked before looking up at me.
"yes, i thought uraraka might like the pink as she wears a lot of pink shirts with the apron. and the carnations reminded me of your hair, so i got green ones." i said, hagakure chuckled next to me. she approached uraraka and took the flower out of her hand and put it into her hair.
"that's cute, uraraka-san!" she commented, obviously being cheery. this made me smile, seeing hagakure was getting along well with someone else.
"thank you hagakure-san!" uraraka said happily as midoriya chuckled.
"you're, right hagakure. it doesn't look bad." he said, giving a smile. i nodded in agreement. she seemed to blush at this and looked extremely flustered.
"ah, well..." she trailed off before hagakure patted her shoulder.
"aw, it's okay uraraka-san." she said, trying to comfort her.
"uraraka! i have an idea!" midoriya blurted before looking over to her excitedly.
"huh? what is it deku?" she asked, her face returning to it's normal color.
"a new cake idea, and i think it'll do well!" he was bouncing on his heels, i was a bit confused but decided to let them go about it. yet my curiosity got to me.
"what kind?" i asked, midoriya quickly looking towards me. he had a big excited smile which was honestly kinda cute.
"it'll be a surprise, and i'll let you guys try it before the unveiling." he said, his face showing a cheery expression while he also looked like he was in thought.
"sounds interesting!" hagakure commented.
"thank you shouto-kun for the flowers, but we gotta go test a recipe!" he said before taking uraraka's hand and leading her to the door. she was a bit surprised but waved before following along with him. i chuckled as the two left.
"wow, he sure is energetic." hagakure said, before giving, what i assume was a smile.
"he sure is, and i like it." i commented before hagakure and i watchedthem cross the street, midoriya practically pulling uraraka.
"i think that's pretty obvious."
