Aurora West is abducted by a ragtag group of deranged people called the Altered. They insist on using her to find a cure for the Alteration. Aurora is put through rigorous experiments in the group's small hidden laboratory, where she also begins to bond with her crazed kidnappers. They plan to escape the walled and dangerous city before time runs out and they lose themselves completely. A tale of love, loss, lies and death.

Smart girls are the ones you gotta stay away from. They get inside your head and make you crazy. They make you question life itself and what's really worth living for. Those are the girls to be cautious about and stay away from if at all possible, especially if they're hot. Take Dylan Hawking for example; Hot, but smart.
Bad boys are dangerous. They're exactly that: bad boys. Always getting in trouble and arrested. They have no guidance. I blame their parents. But I can't help but wonder what drives a person to be like that. Take Sean Kendrick for example; Cute, but dangerous.
What happens when you put the "Goody-Goody" Dylan Hawking and the misunderstood "Bad-Boy" Sean Kendrick in the same house for a year? Love, hate, breakups, hookups, one night stands, parties, boys, girls, crime, punishment. Actions speak louder than words and Dylan and Sean are about to find out just what that means.
