Tony was looking through all the files but got nothing. 'All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch.'

Natasha was doing a little rummaging herself, 'He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other.'

Rhodey was looking straight at Tony with more of a national concern on his mind, 'He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?'

Maria clocked it, 'Nuclear codes.'

Rhodes just nodded, 'Nuclear codes. Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can.'

Natasha looking bewildered, 'Nukes? He said he wanted us dead.'

'He didn't say dead. He said extinct.' Corrected Rogers who wasn't even looking at his love.

'He also said he killed somebody.' Interrupted Clint.

'But there wasn't anyone else in the building.' Maria said what was on everyone's mind.

At that moment, Bruce walked in, and said, 'Yes there was.' To everyone's confused faces he added, 'Peter worked it out.' And he brought up the now destroyed 3D image of JARVIS' consciousness.

Banner, even though knowing it was destroyed, was still a little shocked, 'This is insane.'
To Steve, it seemed obvious, 'JARVIS was the first line of defense. He would've shut Ultron down, it makes sense.'

'No, Ultron could've assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy, this is...rage.'

Thor has been intently looking at the screen that was tracking the Iron Legion. 'Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again.' His rage seeping more and more into every word.

Maria was confused to say the least, 'I don't understand. You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?'

Stark ,out of nowhere, starts laughing, Banner starts subtly shaking his head at him to get him to stop but it's not working.

Thor is just getting more pissed off, 'You think this is funny?'

Tony finally stops laughing, 'No. It's probably not, right? Is this very terrible? Is it so...is it so...it is. It's so terrible.'

'This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand.'

'No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this.'

Bruce didn't want to make the situation worse, 'Tony, maybe this might not be the time to...'

But Tony was already heated, 'Really?! That's it? You just roll over, show your belly, every time somebody snarls.'

Banner still trying to put a little sense into his head, 'Only when I've created a murder bot.'

Tony was still heated and very defensive, 'We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?'

Steve still not looking at Tony, 'Well, you did something right. And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than SHIELD.'

Tony was more heated than ever and tried his best to keep his voice steady while he got it through their thick skulls, 'Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole? Saved New York?'

The whole team was looking at the ground, in defeat, all tired, all wreaked, all angry but too weak to argue. So Tony continued.

'Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing three hundred feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the live long day, but, that up there? That's...that's the end game. How were you guys planning on beating that?'
