'Congratulations, decathlon national champions.'

Peter sat around a table with his team, a little saddening after just saying goodbye to Liz, but all in all doing all right.

'I'll have to put this back in the trophy case soon. but just for motivation right now at this practice. I'm ahead of the game, but we will need a new team captain next year. So I am appointing Michelle.'

Peter and Ned turned to each other. They had guessed it would be her eventually, She's smart and sticks up for people.

'Thank you. My-My friends call me MJ.'

Peter's phone buzzes in his pocket with a text from Happy saying something about meeting him in the bathroom. Peter tried his best not to express confusion at that.'I gotta go.'

'Hey, where you going? What are you hiding, Peter?' MJ didn't know, right? And not only did she know apparently, she was going to tell the whole- 'I'm just kidding. I don't care. Bye.'

Phew.

~~~~~~~~~~~
'Hey, Happy. What-What are you doing here?'
Happy took a deep breath in before beginning. 'I really owe you one. I don't know what I would do without this job. I mean, before I met Tony-'
Some kid came out of the toilet, definitely confused to see a grown man standing there.
'So how long you been here?'
'Long enough to be awkward. Boss wants to see you.'
'Is he here too?' Tony barely walks into a public toilet in a restaurant, never mind in his school.
'In the toilet? No, he's upstate.'
'Upstate- Like, upstate-upstate?'
'Yeah, let's go.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

'Take a look.' Peter's grin stretched across his face. His dad had done amazing. 'It's pretty impressive, huh? They just finished remodeling the whole thing.'

A quinjet took off as Happy and Peter got out of the car. 'If you weren't Tony's son, you'd be more impressed.'

Tony stood towards them in his usual suave manner, the walk he puts on when he's happy or excited. It's how Peter could tell from an early age when he was getting a surprise. 'Oh, there they are. How was the ride up?'

'Good.'

'Give me a minute with the kid.'

'Seriously?'

'Yeah. I gotta talk to the kid. He's my kid.'

'I'll be close behind.'

'How about a loose follow? All right? Boundaries are good.'

Tony grabbed Peter around the shoulder in a loving and guiding manner, but also in a 'You had to save a PLANE without a suit! You could have died! And so for that I am not letting go,' kind of way.

'Sorry I took your suit. I mean, you had it coming. Actually, it turns out it was the perfect sort of tough love moment that you needed, right? To urge you on, right? Wouldn't you think? Don't you think?'

Peter just shrugged because his suit would have been useful at the fight. 'I guess.'

'Let's just say it was.'

'Dad, I really-'

'You screwed the pooch hard. Big time. But then you did the right thing: You took the dog to the free clinic, you raised the hybrid puppies.' Peter was getting more and more confused as Tony's sentence went on. 'alright, not my best analogy. I was wrong about you, I think with a little more mentoring, you could be a real asset to the team.'
