Maybe I once fell into the stereo typical Cali 'chill' type of person, but over the past few weeks I realized that that person no longer exists inside of me.
What brought this out, you may ask? Well the answer is simple, my two best friend were getting closer and closer. Sabrina would spend hours on end talking about Drew as if he he was her new god. Blushes and bright eyes followed this conversation, and it became obvious to see that Sabrina was falling hard for a guy that may not be worth her time. I had to fix this before it got any worse, so knocking on Drew's door seemed to be the most logical thing to do.
"What are you doing here King?" Nate asks, opening the door.
"Is Drew here?" I ask, not answering his question.
"Yeah, in the game room." he tells me slowly, leaning on the door.
"Thanks buddy." I slap his chest and push him aside. I trek up the stairs quickly, eager to get to Drew.
I don't even bother to knock before barging in. Drew is wearing his headset for some new interactive game of his, and is almost completely unfazed by my dramatic entrance.
"Drew, we need to talk." I tell him, stepping in front of the TV, blocking his view.
His eyes widen a the sight of me but they quickly become regular again. He slides of the headphones on his head and sets down his controller.
"Go on." he leans back, placing his hands in his lap.
"Sabrina is really falling for you in case you haven't noticed. You can't keep playing this game trying to prove to yourself we have something. Drew, Sabrina is an amazing person, and she doesn't deserve to be played, not even by a guy like you." I tell him quickly, a hand on my hip.
"I get what you're saying, I do, but have you not realized that I'm not playing that game anymore. It's been two weeks since Sabrina and I's date. Things have changed." he sighs, standing up and walking to the mini fridge.
"But you told me that you knew the game I was playing." I tell him shaking my head, my voice soft.
"Yeah, but like I said...two weeks ago." he leans against the couch.
"So you're telling me that you're done. That you're fully pursuing Sabrina?"
"Yes, I hope that makes you happy." he smiles, popping open the coke in his hand.
"Yeah, I am. I guess I should go then." I say awkwardly, clearing my throat. I don't say goodbye before leaving the game room and descending down the staircase.
I hop into my car and place my head on the steering wheel. I've never felt more stupid in my life, and I've never had so many conflicting feelings. I know that Drew will only be a friend to me, even if the kiss we shared was beyond just friends, it still happened. If I was being completely honest in the moment I questioned Colton and I's relationship and the weird feeling in my stomach, but I figured out those are just feelings after you get from kissing someone other than your boyfriend, at least that's what I told myself.
I put the key in the ignition and followed my gut to go to Colton's house. I have no idea why I decide to take the drive to his house, but I do, and before I know it I'm parked in his driveway.
I don't bother to ring the doorbell before walking into his house. I lift the flowerpot on the small brick wall by the door, and place the key into the lock. Of course the door clicks open. I expect to see Colton walking around his underwear like usual, but instead a man sitting in the kitchen sipping on some coffee catches my attention.
"Hi, but who are you and what are you doing in my boyfriend's house?" I ask slowly, keeping my distance.
"Hi, I'm Vince Sanders and I bought this house." he stands, taking the glasses of his face.
