20 – Spirit’s Creed

“The whole truth will set you completely free.”

My friend said to me. What could make any more sense than that? Who could argue? To argue this would be saying that the lies will set you free or that the truth won’t. Because there’s either truth or lies, there’s no in-between. Your actions are either of the spirit or they are not. It is as simple as that. If this whole book has been confusing to you and you understand nothing else, I know you will understand this: There are truths and there are lies. Truth is of the spirit and lies are evil. Understand that there is no falseness within the Spirit’s Creed. My friend broke it down for me very simply. Sort of like a guideline to live by. I turned it into the Spirit’s Creed because I liked how it sounded.

“Man should never intend to measure his will against the will of another man. That is setting the bar way, way too low. Man should intend to measure his will against that of the spirit. To compare ourselves to those around us is to make excuses for not being the best we can be. The only comparison we should ever make is between who we are and who we should be, or to the spirit itself. That is how we can remain humble. No matter how well we do we will never reach our full potential and it is impossible for us to compare to the spirit.

Those who are not subject to the will of the spirit are settling for a life that is far less than what was intended for them. Imagine that you are the parent of a six-year-old. One day that six year old demands to make all of their own decisions. Would you feel good about letting them? No. Then children reach the age of eighteen and they want to make all of their own decisions. You probably still don’t feel good about it, but at this point you have little choice.

Out of love, you step back and let them make their own decisions. Here is how it is: You will let your child make all kinds of stupid decisions and perhaps even ruin their own life. But, how much better would their life be if they asked your opinion and took your counsel very seriously? You have scores of years more experience. You are far more qualified to see the perils of life than an eighteen year old.

If they overcome their pride to listen, how much better can their lives be? So, by being less prideful and willful, by setting their need to be an individual aside for a moment and listening to their loving elders, they can have a much happier life. They can inherit your wisdom without needing the scars to obtain it.

Think of how much greater the distance is between how we see things and how the spirit sees things? How much better will our lives be if we set pride aside and ask the spirit’s opinion and take its counsel seriously? We must overcome our need to prove our individuality and listen to the designs of the spirit.

Spirit’s Creed

Any behaviors, which are not in compliance with the will of the spirit 100%, cannot be considered love. Love is of the spirit and the spirit consists of all the aspects of love, which is in turn truth. A 99% alignment with the spirit is not alignment with the spirit. Partial truths do not partially set you free! The whole truth sets you wholly free. Anything that is not 100% true is not truth and gives no freedom. When acting in alignment with the will of the spirit we can never be deceitful because the will of the spirit is always, always, always truth. Sins will include obsessions of any kind, self- importance above the spirit or any other being.

Deceiving or bringing force upon another in the interest of control to satisfy a personal agenda is not only a sin against that person, but is also a sin against all people and a sin against the spirit itself. Such deceit wreaks havoc upon humanity, causes harmful negative energies to be released upon everyone and harms the perpetrator most of all.
