I woke up in my room, decorated in the dark green and silver that I had grown accustomed to since I was born. My father, Jax Hale, was Slytherin when he went to Hogwarts in the 70's. In fact, his ancestors were all Pureblood Slytherins.  My brother, Talon, my sister, Anastasia, and I all grew up to believe that anyone that was not a pureblood was dirty and we were not to associate with them.  My brother and sister were always compliant to these beliefs. Most Slytherins were.  Myself on the other hand, believed that every witch and wizard was equal regardless of blood status. We all have power so why should I hate them for it? I always tried to keep my mouth shut at home on those matters. My father is a death eater so I always try to obey him. I have a good group of friends at school. Astoria Greengrass, Pansy Parkinson, Liliana Rockwood, Blaise Zabini, and Draco Malfoy.

I rolled out of my bed and over to my bathroom. Once I added water and bubble bath to it I let my robe slip off my shoulders and step into the warm bath water. I instantly let out a breath.

Tonight, my father was holding a ball for his "friends". "Friends" meaning his fellow death eaters. The only good thing about tonight was that I got to dress up and see Draco and Liliana.

I stayed in the bath until it started to get cold. When I got out I walked over to my closet.

"Here is your dress for the ball tonight, Miss Hale." Our house elf Sira told me.

"How many times must I ask you to call me Rose?" I tell her with a quiet laugh.

"Sira is truly sorry, Miss Hale. I mean, Rose." Sira stumbles over her words.

I shimmy my hips into my dark green dress while Sira climbs onto my desk chair. She zips the back of the dress closed. (A/N: Dress is pictured above)

"Thank you, Sira. You may go now." I say politely.

I put on some silver chandelier earrings and then grabbed my most prized possession. My mother's diamond necklace with a tiny snake on it. She had given it to me on my 13th birthday. She died three months later. I put the necklace on, letting my hand linger for a few seconds. My thoughts were interrupted by my sister.

"Rosemary, it's time! People are starting to arrive!" Anastasia yelled through my door.

I throw on some silver high heels before opening the door to see my thirteen year old sister staring back at me.

"Father is upset that you've missed greeting our first guests. I suggest you hurry before you miss any more." She says.

I start to walk down the staircase when I pause for a moment and look back.

"You look beautiful, Ana." I tell her.

She blushes but responds.

"Thank you, so do you."

When I finished walking down the stairs I see my father in the middle of our foyer.

"Father?" I say quietly to let my presence be known.
