Hale Manor

I woke up the next day feeling strangely comfortable, given what happened the night before.  I throw on an old Slytherin sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. I walk downstairs to see Talon and Anastasia eating breakfast.

"Father wants to have a word. He's in his study." Talon tells me.

I let out a small sigh before turning around to go to my father's study.  Soon enough I am standing outside the door.  I give two sharp knocks before I hear his deep voice.

"Come in."

I walk in to see my father sitting at his mahogany desk reading a wizarding world newspaper with his glasses resting on the tip of his nose.  He looks up at me before speaking.

"I know that last night's announcement may have come as a shock to you but this arrangement has been planned since your birth.  You had better make Draco happy.  Lucius is the Dark Lord's second in command and I need to be in his good graces especially after what Victoria did."

There it was.  It was only a matter of time before he brought her up.  Victoria. Victoria was my mother's name.  My father is on a very short leash after what my mother did.  My family has a history of being loyal servants to the Dark Lord.  It started with my grandfather being an original follower.  My mother had never believed in pure blood supremacy but she knew better than to defy my Father and the Dark Lord. That was until she was caught helping the ministry.  She warned them that he was back.  Her bravery had cost her everything.  Her husband.  Her children.  Her life.  My father didn't like to talk about her because she betrayed him and our family.  She put us all at risk.  Voldemort was waiting for her when she returned home from the ministry and killed her on sight.  My siblings and I were forced to watch.  It was his way of making sure we understood where our loyalties lie and if we ever betrayed him, we would be where she was.  Dead.

I wanted to talk back and say for him to stop disgracing my mother and her legacy but the words won't come up past my throat.  I know better.

The only way to survive this war is to be smart.  If I stay silent and don't speak out I can get by undetected.  I am only fifteen, I have my whole life ahead of me.

"I will not disappoint you, Father. I promise."  I lie through my teeth.

"Good. Can you accompany your sister to Diagon Alley? You both need to pick up your books for school."

"Yes, Father. We will leave right away." I tell him.

Diagon Alley

"Slow down, Stasia!" I yell but it's too late.

My sister had seen her friends walking about and ran off. I look around and after not seeing any of my friends, I decide to peek inside the Weasley's Joke Shop. I glance over the items in the store when I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Funny seeing a Slytherin in here. We don't usually get many."

I turn around and see Fred Weasley.

"Well hello, Fred. How was your summer?" I ask, a smile making its way onto my face.

"Mine was a bit stressful, nothing I can't handle though. What about you, Rosie?" He asks.

"I've been better. I can't wait to go back to school. I don't really leave the manor much." I say with a frown.

"There you are, Fred! Mum's been looking for you everywhere!" George yells coming up to us.

"Oh, Where are my manners? How are you, Rose?" He says blushing.

"I've been good, George. I better go find my sister though. It was nice seeing you both!" I give them a smile before I leave to find my sister.

You might be thinking, if I'm a death eater by association, why am I friends with the Weasleys? It's simple. I'm nice to everyone regardless of house or blood status. I'm friendly with a good bit of Gryffindors and Ravenclaws. When I'm at Hogwarts I hang out with my own house mostly but I try to socialize with everyone. Kindness is just in my nature.

I see a glimpse of two people wearing black with platinum blonde hair. Why are Narcissa and Draco going into Knockturn Alley? I keep my distance but begin to follow them. Just as I make it to the alley a hand pulls me back.

"What do you think you're doing?!" I turn around and see my brother, Talon.

"Father sent you here to watch Anastasia! NOT for you to follow the Malfoy's! What they are up to is none of your business." He snaps.

"Shouldn't it be my business? I am to marry Draco after all." I roll my eyes.

"If the Dark Lord wanted you to know the business, he would have told you himself. Now go find Anastasia and go home, Rosemary. This doesn't concern you." He says and gives me a shove towards the shops.

If nobody wants to tell me what's going on, I guess I will just have to figure it out myself.
