‘’ show me your true colors and I will build you a rainbow’

Next day I went to class late, because I had some things to clear up at the student
finance’s office. I wanted to be exempted from some other courses that I had already done from UNZA, but unfortunately I was unsuccessful because I had left UNZA over a year ago. I went to class when biology was almost done, lucky enough the lecturer didn’t ask me why I was late, I didn’t find any empty seat so I went and carried a chair from the next class.

I put my chair as further as I could from Michael, I didn’t know why but for some reason I decided to treat him like some of the people from my past that I chose to forget. After chemistry I carried my books without looking at anybody, I was the first person to leave class even before the lecturer did.

I went into the locker room; my locker was furthest away from the entrance if Angela hadn’t showed it to me the first day of class I would have surely failed to locate it. I locked my locker after putting my books back in and getting some instruments for Building science, the course I was going for just after lunch. The locker room was really empty; I could hear myself breathing with every step I took.

When I reached half way of the room, I saw two people kissing leaning against a locker. It was never my intention but one of my instruments fell to the floor, and the shuttled couple glanced my direction. “I’m sorry, really sorry.” I said as I bend down and quickly picked up my set square. When the couple faced me that was when I noticed that it was Thelma and Michael, they were both running out of breath and sweating. “Fat creep! Can you fucking get out of here and go to psycho land.” Thelma yelled at me really frustrated. I shouldn’t have let her talk to me like that, I should have defended myself and put her in her place but I just walked away feeling really sad as bitterness clouded up my soul.

I never went to my after lunch class, I was in my room alone, sulking and crying my tears out. The words Thelma said to me hit me like a wrecking ball and just tore me apart. I hated the fact that I couldn’t keep myself from crying, I wasn’t the type of person to let mean people rain on my parade. A year ago my whole life had been perfect, I had been at the school of my dreams and had been so in love with the coolest guy in school. I had the coolest friends, a perfect social life and practically the girl every boy wanted to date, I had been the better version of Thelma. My body was beautifully curved even if I was not slim I was chubby but attractive, but within a blink of an eye I had lost everything. All the friends I had left me, I lost the two loves of my life and lost the future I had built for myself. I took my phone in my hands, and typed a poem as I
wiped my tears.  The words that I couldn’t speak were like caged beasts in my soul slowly devouring me.
