I was absentmindedly walking through the walkway rushing as I was late for my afternoon class. Then suddenly, I came by a neatly folded green paper. It was strategically placed among the grass that one would have thought that it's part of the landscape. I picked it up out of pure curiosity, and continued walking.
Three hours later, after the lengthy lecture of a major subject, I decided to drink a cup of tea in one of my favorite tea shop. I then remembered the note I picked up earlier. I searched my bag and found it.
With an expectant heart, I unfolded the note and it said, "Smile for me. If I see you smiling, I would be gleeful too."
Pondering upon it, I got startled when a stranger placed on top of my table two identical cups of tea named Alex on them.
I was about to retort when he said, "Wait, you have to smile first." and I questionably replied, "and why?"
He simply said with an asthma-inducing smile, "cause you got my note... And I took your tea to your table. By the way, I'm Alex. You're Alex too if I am not mistaken?"
Free of puzzled thoughts I muttered," Yes, I am Alex too, what a coincidence that this is your note, you are here too, and we share a name but you are a stranger, so please leave my table."
He then said and sat by the chair in front of me, "You know what, sometimes that's why people miss a chance of destiny and fate because they blame it to an unnecessary thing called coincidence. To tell you frankly, I would like to believe that this isn't coincidence, this is a pure fate of that piece of paper that you picked up. Thanks for making me smile, I am hoping that this wont be the last."
He stood up, picked up his tea and the next thing I heard was the clinking sound of the door. He left me dumbfounded, not knowing what to think.
If I should consider his theories knowing the fact that he is a complete stranger or follow my rational mind and crumple the piece of paper that made this all up? "Oh well, good thing a cup of tea can solve all this dilemma." I muttered.
Then my eyes flew to my wallet in front of me. " You have not ordered tea yet," my mind told me. But.. But.. How? I have a cup of smoking hot Earl Grey waiting for me to drink? Woah. Something is definitely up.
As I picked up the cup, I realized it carried a sticky note that said, "You really do make me smile."
Woah. Woah. Woah. Creepy.
