RECAP
"Well, I have to go to training, see you later?" we walk towards the door and he opens it and begins to head out.
"Yeah here's my number can or text whenever. Or don't that's fine." He grins taking the number. The grin sends shivers down my back and makes my heart flutter.
"Bye."
"Bye." I hurry and kiss his cheek and whisper in his ear 'thank you'. This catches him off guard and before he can say something I turn and close the door. I lean against the door and slide down to the floor while holding my knees to my chest. I smile the hardest I ever had.
Two Weeks Later - Jonathan's POV
"The first to miss bullseye buys drinks," I say as I land the first bullseye. "One down. You sure you want to do this Dwayne. You're going to lose. Quit while your ahead."
"I never lose you better quit." He hits the bullseye and hands me the next set. We are out at the bar close to the campus. I'm waiting for Diamond to get out of class. We have grown close over this past two weeks. Her next class starts in three hours and it's my father's class today is the last day of his final. We finished the robot in the first week and had been running test ever since. I have helped the other teams with as little help as possible not be trying to get an unwanted advantage. Diamond, on the other hand, encourages it. I had to shut that down though it's unfair we will win legally. We've become best friends we seem to know the same people so our friends are pretty much the same except the obviously rich and powerful.
"Dwayne you know he's not going to lose you better just give in," Diamend says as she walks in and leans against me.
"Oh, the couple have something to say," We both blush. "We aren't dating," we said the in unison and blush further.
"Seems to me y'all are. Y'all talk on the phone for hours and y'all messages are thousands of pages long. You two obviously like each other. Why don't you two make it official?" Jessie was right why don't I just do it already and say fuck the consequences.
"That is some--," I stop Diamond mid-sentence and kiss her. She begins to just melt into the kiss and we begin to make out. We stop for air. "That was amazing."
"It was? I've been dying to do that."
"Why didn't you?
"I thought you wouldn't want to."
"Of course I would! You're amazing and so sweet I was just waiting for you." I softly bite her lip.
"You're mine now," I laugh holding her in my arms. She just pouts and bites my lip back.
"Hey lovebirds you forget about us standing here," Jess says throwing chips at us.
"Oh sorry. I was blinded by beauty for a sec," I look at Diamond with my sly grin and she just laughs.
"That grin of yours is annoying."
"Whats so annoying about it?"
"Everything!" She kisses me again and walks back to Jessie. I turn back to Dwayne and we go back and forth score a bullseye. We go for hours before we give up and split the bill. We all leave and me and Diamond wave goodbye as we walk to my car.
"Time for the battle huh."
"Yep, plus I have you to back me up. Also, your driving so if you mess up it's not on me."
"What a diabolical plan." We hurry and get in the car making sure we have everything.
"Yep but I have you," She grasps my hand and kisses it. I start up the car and drive off to the Tech Hall. we arrive on time and set up all of our stuff in the front of the class. She made me carry everything as she set up.
"Let's get started shall we?" he walks around and expects all of the robots. Ours was one of the top three best. "The first match begin!"
Timeskip- Jonathan POV(because I'm lazy)
The matches went by pretty quickly. We came in second place the other team's robot was faster and stronger. They wiped the floor with our robot easily. The only thing that really matters is that all the students learned something and had fun doing so. I get up and walk to the front of the class and begin speaking while my father finished his grading. "That was a fantastic tournament I hope you all had fun because I did. I hope you all take something away from this. With a team, you can all accomplish anything. Every one of you showed amazing talent and worked together perfectly. My father has nothing left for you, but I have something. This will not affect your grade in this class. What you got today as a grade is final. I want to give you all the opportunity to face me and my team with your robots. Take what you learned today and improve on your robot. At the end of this term, you will face a robot my team just create so you really have the advantage. I'm passing a paper around If you want to give your robot a shot against mine write your team's name down. It will be a new tournament and you will be rematching each other and fight your way to the top again. With that class is dismissed see you tomorrow." They all begin to leave and I grab the paper from the last student, Diamond, everyone wants to go again. This will be fun.
"You know you're crazy right."
"Haha! Whatever do you mean?"
"A class tournament against your team. You're going to wipe the floor with them." I laughed and turn towards my father who spoke up.
"Not necessarily, Jonathan and his team will have a run for their money with the team who came in first place. The robot they used was an exact replica of one of his old ones. So they may have a winning chance."
"That doesn't mean I won't take that into account. I'll be prepared. Come on babe let's go." We got in the car and drove back to her place. She crashed on her bed when we came into her room.
"I'm sooooo tiredddddd!"
"I know you are it was a long day." I got undress with only my basketball shorts and no shirt. she went into my bag and grab my hoodie and undress to her bra and panties then put on my hoodie. It was like a nightgown on her. Way too big for her. We climb into bed and under the covers. She cuddled into me and begin driting off.
"Make sure I stay awake I got to study for a test tomorrow."
"Hai. Hai."
"You can speak Japanese?"
"Hai, dekimasu"
"I learn more and more about you every day. Your life must have been easy."
"Far from it. My life was filled with trial and error. I didn't have a simple life it was hard and light of my day was playing and babysitting you."
"I found a photo of you and me in my mother's office"
"Your mother used to love me, but she hated the life I had to live and was constantly trying to get me out of it. She was like a mother since mine died when I was only 3. Your mother was the only thing I had close to a mother. She entrusted you to me long ago. Even though she cared for me you were light and was the only kid she had left. You know how all of your sisters barely come around that's why she always comes over and keeps you so close your the only one that still talks to her.
"I didn't know that." She sat up and look at me. "Can we go see my mother?"
"Yes." We got up and dressed and remade the bed and raced off to her mother's place in the next town over.
