1: Bad Luck

     I slam my hand down on the alarm clock and look at the time, my alarm clock had woken me up an hour early for work. I sit up and rub my eyes in exhaustion, guess I could play some video games before work or something. I slowly sit up out of bed trying to wake myself up, throwing on a shirt and walking out to the living room. I pick up my controller as I put on Wolf In Sheep's Clothing by Set It Off. I turn on my PlayStation, as I go to play my favorite game I notice a big scratch. "UGH DAMMIT PUMPKIN!" I yell to the orange yellow retriever in the corner, as he completely ignores me. "Ugh, fuck it." I walk to the kitchen and grab a pop tart and look at the clock. "What?! How am I late?!" I throw on my button up shirt, not even buttoning it, my sports bra still showing as I grab my keys and run out the door.
     I knew I was speeding but I didn't even care. I had Bad Girlfriend blasting from my car radio, not fitting for my slow ass car that I still haven't got around to getting it fixed. On the outside it's an awesome green mustang, on the inside it was a broken piece of crap. I pull into the parking lot right in front of the store as I finish buttoning up my shirt. I fiddle with my keys and lock my car, the entire time with my eyes glued to the floor. I immediately regret this decision when I feel myself bump right into Pearl, and so it begins. "Oh! There you are! Why are you so late?!" I glare at Pearl, grimacing at her annoying tone before shooting a fake smile. "Dumb alarm clock that never works right. And a broken ass car." I snarl as I motion to the piece of junk car parked out front. "Language Peridot! This is a work place!" She is practically glaring daggers at me. Not that it phases me considering this is just Pearl being Pearl. "Sure thing Pearl." I say sarcastically as I go to stock up the games. "Hey P-Dot!" My good Ol' pal Amethyst says to me as I walk by with a box of games, note my sarcasm. She always pressures me to do stuff I don't wanna do. "What is it Amethyst?" I ask as I put copies of Fortnite on the shelf, I thought this was a downloadable game but I guess it comes in discs now too. "Garnet and I are going up to the forest's lake to go swimming. You should come! You too Pearl!" She yells excited, or high, maybe both. "I'm good, I don't like the outsi-" I was cut off by the shelf of games coming loose, causing all the games fall to the ground. "Are you kidding me?!" I shout. "Wow, what are the odds." Amethyst says laughing. "What did you do?!" I growl, she probably did have something to do with this. I couldn't figure out how, but I know she did! "This has nothing to do with me! But I approve." She says as she laughs more, I growl as I fix the shelf. Can this day get any worse?
     "Hey runt!" There's my answer. "Jasper you can't be in here! You're banned for stealing games!" Pearl snaps. "Come on cutie I'm just here to have fun with my favorite nerd." She smirks as she drags a finger under Pearl's chin, I could tell it sent a chill down her spine. Why does she always like the big tough idiots? "Now then, why don't you give me what you owe me runt." Jasper says smirking. Jasper is the muscle/brute to a gang called the Diamond Authority. Jasper's branch was originally run by Jasper's crush Pink Diamond, or at least that's what she was known as, along with her best friend Pink Pearl. That was until the day they both were killed by an explosion in the Pink Diamond court, now the only branches left in it are run by the gang members Yellow, Blue, and White Diamond. Jasper belongs to Yellow Diamond's court now, as you can tell by the yellow diamond on her jacket. She always took my money, games, and anything else I had to sell for cash. "I don't have any." I say flat, tired of her shit. "Fine. I'll be waiting for after you get paid." She growls as she walks out. I feel a chill go down my spine, what am I gonna do? "Woah P-dot, standing up to Jasper like that?" Amethyst says eating chips she got from somewhere. "What have I just done?" I say still shocked. "Dig your grave. That's what you did." I'm. So. Dead.
     After work I rushed to my car and started speeding away, I figured if I could get home Pumpkin could bite Jasper or something if she tried to attack me. I was four blocks from home until- "No no why!!" I yell as my car stops. I try to start it and all I get is tattered engine sounds. "This day officially can't get any worse!" I groan as I try once again to start the car. As I was about to scream out in anger I feel something cold, almost like metal, pressed to the back of my head.  "Get out of the car." A cold yet, nervous sounding voice says behind me. As I slowly turn my head the voice shouts again. "I said get out of the car!"  I start to panic seeing the glare off the pistol. "D-don't shoot." I stutter out. The world slows down and I think, This is where I'm going to die.
