"No Lapis!" I yell putting away the green hair dye. "Cmon Peri! Just one streak!" She whines. "No! I don't want my hair dyed!" I yell again grabbing her blue hair dye from the shelf and walking away before she can stop me. "You're no fun." She pouts. Dammit why is she so cute when she does that pouty face?! "Can we go to the park or something? It's a nice day out." Lapis asks as we walk out the store with a bag full of hair dye and soaps. "We can go get ice cream." I say with a smile. "Sure." She smiles back. We walk in the park to a small ice cream place. "Hey Mr. Smiley. Two cones please." I say pulling out my wallet. "Sure thing! What flavors?" He asks. "Strawberry for me." I look at Lapis. "I'll have the purple one, whatever flavor it is." She says smiling. "Coming right up!" We sit down on a concrete wall with our ice cream. As I look down at my phone, I'm suddenly pounced on by a dog. "Hey!" I yell dropping my ice cream which lands on the dog's head.
Lapis starts laughing. "Lapis stop laughing and get this dog off me!" I shout. "Okay okay!" She pats her lap making the dog move over to her as she takes the ice cream off his head. "Peridot you gotta a little ice cream on your cheek." She giggles. By a little she meant a lot. "Come here." She turns my head to face her and starts cleaning it off. I blush and try not to look into her eyes. "I'm so sorry about that! Come here boy!" A boy yells as he grabs the dog, I look up. "Hey Steven!" Lapis smiles. Lapis knows Steven? "Hey Lapis! Hey Peridot! I didn't know you guys knew each other." He says holding the dog and tilting his head. "It's a long story." I say cleaning off the last of the ice cream. "So who's this little guy?" Lapis asks petting the dog. "Oh I just found him here in the street. I was gonna bring him home and see if him and lion wanted to be friends." Steven says smiling. Steven found a cat not that long ago that someone had dyed pink as a cruel joke, he named him lion and took him home with him. "What are you guys doing?" He asks. "Just hanging out." I say with a shrug. Lapis kinda looks off when I say that, however I chose not to acknowledge it. "Wanna come over and play?" Steven asks. "We'd love to Steven but we gotta go fix my hair." Lapis smiles. "Oh right! Well, I'll see you guys later!" He says running off.

Lapis takes her shoes off and sits down on the couch, turning on the TV. "Where'd you meet Steven?" Lapis asks looking up at me standing next to the couch. "Oh, when my mom kicked me out Steven offered to let me live with him. I'd spend the night every now and then but I slept in the bathroom." Lapis starts laughing. "Why the bathroom?" She giggles. "Because the couch was uncomfortable." I state grabbing my controller and playing Halo on the Xbox. "Well, I'm gonna go fix this mess I'll be back." Lapis says grabbing the hair dye and walking into the bathroom.
A couple minutes go by, I hear Lapis call for me to come to the bathroom door. "What's up?" I ask leaning against it and cleaning my glasses off. "Can you help me? I can't reach the back of my head." She says, I open the door and peak inside. Lapis is standing by the sink, holding the bottle of dye out for me to take. "Um, I don't know how to." I mumble grabbing the bottle. "Just put some in your hands and run it through my hair. Might wanna wear gloves though." It was too late, I already started putting it on my hands before she added the gloves part. "Don't worry it'll wash off, eventually." She says with a giggle, I pout but start putting it in her hair. The dye goop feels so slimy and gross, but her hair feels soft. "This is why I refuse to let you put this filth in my hair." I snap, trying to wash it off of my hands. "Yeah, but it'll look cute on you. And you think it's cute on me right?" Lapis asks as she leans at the sink and winks at me. I feel my heart practically jump out of my chest. "Yeah, on you not on me." Lapis gives me a surprised look and a pink blush covers her face. "I didn't think you'd agree with me, you really think it looks cute?" She asks covering her face with her hand partially and looking at her hair in the mirror. I think everything about you is cute. Wait, did I really just think that? "U-Um, yeah. It looks cute on you, but not on me." I say quickly and try to avoid her piercing gaze as she looks over to me. She just smiles and looks back at herself in the mirror.
