                         Ava's POV

I walked toward Chloe's car and got in. "Hey, girl" she drove me home and I sat on my bed thinking. Why would he like her? I don't even know him, so why do I care so much? I heard my phone go off and I opened my phone, a message from a unknown number.

Unknown: Hey, A

Ava: who is this?

Unknown: you know ;)

Ava: no...

Unknown: it's Ethan dummy

Ava: how did you get my number?

Ethan: your friend

Chloe

Ava: okay, why'd you ask for it??

Ethan: I didn't she just ran up to me and gave me a napkin with a number on it.

Ava: oh

Ethan: do you want to do something?

Ava: wouldn't your girlfriend get jealous?

Ethan: she hangs out with guys all the time

Ava: that's not a good thing

Ethan: it gets her off my back

Ava: why are you dating her then?

Ethan: it's a... long story

Ava: I get it, sorry I asked

Ethan: you didn't know

Ava: so pick me up in 20

Ethan: :)

I sent his my address and put my hair in a high ponytail. I slipped on my vans and sat in the kitchen, "hey sweetie" I turned around and saw my dad. "You're home early" I said, "they hired more people so my hours got cut" I nodded my head.

I heard a knock on the door, "I got it!" I opened the door to see Ethan, "hi" I said, "hey, are you ready to go?" I nodded my head and left the house. I was about to opened the door of the car but Ethan quickly rushed over and opened it for me. "Such a gentleman" I joked and I heard him laugh. His laugh was... something. Why do I feel this way?

We arrived at a local ice cream place that was always empty. "Haven't been here in ages" I said. He exited the car and walked into the store. I walked in after and saw the old store. This was the place my mom took me to when I got a good grade or did my chores. Now, it's blurred out, I loved being here. I love the old boom box that always played old music. I miss her, I do, even though she hurt me so much in the progress.

"You coming?" I came back to reality and I nodded my head at Ethan. "Are you okay, A?" I shook my head and he put his hand in mine, "I'll buy you ice cream?" I chuckled, "Thanks Ethan, I needed that." We ordered our ice cream and waited on the side, "I'm not trying to push it but why were you sad?" He asked, for some reason I trust him. I met him 9 hours ago and I trust him like I trust Chloe. "Well" I was cut off by the waiter handing us our ice cream. "Thank you" I said and she nodded her head. "Well?" Ethan said looking at me concerned, "when my mom was still...my mom, she brought me here. It's just brings back so much memories." A tear dropped from the eye, Ethan took my hands across the table. "Don't cry, you're stronger then that. Everything happens for a reason, even if it's good or bad. You can always talk to me, Ava."
