                     Ava's POV

Me and Ethan were in the waiting room for the doctor to call my name. My knee was going up and down nervously. Ethan put his hand on my thigh, "everything is gonna be fine. I promise, A." I gulped and nodded my head.

"Ava Adams?" She said and me and Ethan walked over to her. She lead us to a scale, I gulped and looked at Ethan.

I didn't really know what to say to Ethan yesterday. I really like him but I don't want to get hurt, look what happened to Ethan.

I stepped on the scale and shut my eyes. I opened them and saw 95, what? Last time I was 125, what is happening to me. She checked my weight and height and lead me into the doctors room. "Put this on and the doctor will be in a couple of minutes." She gave me a small smile and left the room.

I took off my black baggie shirt, I looked at my stomach. My ribs were sticking out and I just looked sick in general. I looked in the mirror that was in the office, it was a full body. I saw Ethan walked behind me and wrap me in his arms. His face was in my neck while his arms were wrapped around my stomach. We were looking into each other's eyes through the mirror. "You're beautiful" he said and he was wrong. "I'm just a pile of bones" he pulled away and put my face in his hands.

"Look Ava, yeah you lost weight. But, that doesn't change anything, you are beautiful, intelligent, kind, caring. I wouldn't stop loving you if you weighted 70 pounds or 170. I care about you too much to let you go and I'm not gonna tell you again. You're special, not just to me, but to your dad, Grayson, Cameron, you are special to your mom." He said

"Yes" I said, "what?" He asked. "I want to be your girlfriend, Ethan?" He smiled and wrapped me in his arms. "I love you, A" He said in my ear. "I love you more, Ethan Dolan."

I changed into the hospital gown and sat on the hospital bed. Me and Ethan were talking when the doctor came in. It was a middle age man, he sat at the deck. He was looking at the computer, "do you have any allergies or anything like that?" He asked, "no" he typed it into the old computer. "Have you been eating regularly?"

"Yes"

"Have you been exercising?"

"No"

"Okay"

He got off the chair and walked over to me. "Can I see you stomach?" He asked nervously. I hopped off the hospital bed and took the gown off. He saw my ribs and my spine and he looked saddened and worried. "Can you follow me? Make sure to put the gown on." He said, I changed quickly changed and followed him to a large room. There was one of those machines that your whole body goes into. "Can you lay on this?" He pointed to the thing that goes into the machine.

I laid on it, "you can't move, okay?" I nodded my head nervously. I was slowly pushed in, it wasn't dark. I was there for many minutes and the thing finally came out.

"You can go back to your room and changed into the clothes you were wearing before. I'll be in there in a couple of minutes with the results." I nodded my head and headed toward the room I was in before. The door was cracked open and I saw Ethan bouncing his leg nervously. I knew he was thinking about me, about all the bad stuff. I saw a small tear fall from his eye. I opened the door and he quickly wiped it away. He smiled back to me like nothing was happening. He tried to hug me but... I stopped him.

"What?" He asked saddened, he sat back into his seat. "What were you thinking about, Eth?" I asked and he shook his head. "Nothing"

"No, Ethan. You were thinking about something, about me." I sat next to him and grabbed his hands. "Please..." I trailed off. "Fine... what if it is something more then you being sick? What if you died? I know stupid thing to think about but I love you. I don't want you to leave ever, so I promise I will never, ever leave you."

"Ethan..." the door opened to the doctor and he sat in his chair. I saw no emotion on his face, so I don't know if it's bad or good. "I have some... bad news." He said, "fuck" Ethan said under his breath and I squeezed his hands.

"What is it?"

"You have liver cancer, I'm sorry."
