Waking up this morning was harder than I thought it would be. I absolutely hated Mondays. Rolling out of bed, I trudged to the bathroom and took a quick shower. After brushing my teeth, I did my makeup and curled my hair loosely. I checked the weather on my phone to see 95 degrees. Hot damn! So I went with a floral print skater dress and my all white, high top vans.
"Chytown." Corey said knocking on my door.
"Yeah?" I opened the door and made sure to grab my phone, purse, and books.
"I'm almost ready to go, so just wait in the car for me."
"Okay, gimme the keys please."
When I got downstairs my mom had made breakfast already.
"You hungry sweetie?" she asked.
"Yeah just a little." I grabbed a pancake and two pieces of bacon.
"Have a good day." she smiled while I walked to the car.
"When in hell is that even possible ma?" I laughed.
"It is when you actually try." she replied, laughing along with me.
I was in the car for about five minutes before Corey was ready and we were on our way to the Hell of Hanson High.
When we got to school, I went to my locker to grab my books for my first two classes.
"Hey boo!" Kareena said grabbing her English book out of the locker.
"Hey gorgeous." I smiled.
"Kay, I need like a 5 hour energy or like a red bull. I'm so tired. This is your fault." I laughed. "Keeping me out all Saturday night and having me up all Sunday night."
"Chy, shut the hell up! It's not my fault you have the life of a 45 year old woman. Girl live sometimes!"
"Yeah, yeah. You say the same thing every time. Let's get to class." I smiled.
"Good morning class!" My English teacher, Ms.Slater said cheeringly once the bell ring. A few people responded causing her to frown. "So many sad faces in here this morning." Ms.Slater was one of those 30 year old virgin teachers, who's never even been on a real date, has like 3 cats and enjoys reading under a tree everyday. I refuse to end up like her.
"So we are going to continue with where we left off with Romeo and Juliet last week."
Why the hell are we talking about this. I did this shit last year.
"So what do we all think about the concept of 'love at first sight'? Does anyone in here believe in that concept?"
We all looked around and no one had their hand raised.
"Okay, how about you Ms.Savoy?"
I know she did not just call on me.
"Um... I think love at first sight doesn't really exist because you can't love someone you don't know. It's all just infatuation. Why would I be in love with someone when I don't know anything about that person? In order to truly love someone, you have to know them in their darkest moment and in their lightest moment."
"I see." Ms.Slater smiled. "Oh, Mr.Hartley, would you like to add on to Ms.Savoy's opinion?"
I turned around to see Trey with his hand raised and a sly smirk on his face.
"With all due respect, I think you're a little hypocritical because I know you drool over that one celebrity and swear up and down you love him. For instance, Trey Songz, if he died tomorrow, so many females would be crying and losing their minds. They don't know him but they love him because of who he is. So although you are not in love, you can easily love a person based on who they are. I mean look at me, I could have any female I wanted and all of them love me because of, well you know...but some just love me but there's always that one that says they're in love with me. When we both know that's not the case."
"You have got to be kidding me..." I mumbled. "You're so full of it."
"Oh baby, you wish you were full of me." he said obviously hearing me.
"Okay, that's enough for now Mr.Hartley. Thank you for sharing." Ms.Slater interrupted. "So, moving on, your assignment is indeed based on Romeo and Juliet. Next class, I will be partnering you up with a person of the opposite sex. For this assignment, you will be comparing the role of women in Romeo and Juliet compared to the women in our society today. This assignment is good to have opinions from both genders. We will talk about all the details tomorrow and before you go-" she was interrupted by the bell.
Kareena and I caught back up at lunch time and sat at our normal table outside in the courtyard.
"I swear to God, if Slater pairs me up with him, I'm gonna kill someone." I said gesturing over to Trey and his friends.
"Chy, I still have yet to realize why you have so much hate for them. They haven't even done anything to you. They're actually really chill and they're all cute."
"They can all kiss my ass, I don't like how they go around hoeing around like they run the damn school. These hoppers go around worshipping the ground these guys walk on. They don't care about anything except the games they play on and off the court."
"That's a huge assumption coming from someone who doesn't know us." I heard a voice say. I turned around to see Trey standing behind me with his arms folded across his chest. The way his muscles flexed across his body was nearly breathtaking. Cheyenne stop it!
"I don't need to know you to know you're an insensitive guy who spits nothing but bullshit to all females just to get in bed with them and then you dump them off like they're a piece of trash." I said developing an attitude.
"I have no problem with who I am nor what I do, so I don't need your approval and neither do any of my boys. Baby, I could get any girl I wanted. All I gotta do is smile and I got 'em drooling."
"You couldn't get me even if you tried." I insulted.
"I never said I wanted you though." Damn! I didn't think he could come back that fast.
"Yeah...well..." I stuttered.
"Trey, just leave her alone." Kareena said coming to stand beside me.
"Look gorgeous, just do your friend a favor and save her from the trouble she might get herself into."
"Is that supposed to be a promise or a threat?" I laughed. He turned to me and took a few steps closer so we were face to face.
"Baby you better believe that's a promise." He smirked and ran his hand under my chin, which gave me shivers down my spine.
"Yeah...well... w-w-whatever." I stuttered.
Before he left he winked and let out a small laugh. I hadn't noticed the small crowd he'd attracted. Embarrassed, I grabbed my bag and my books and went back inside.
"Chy, don't let him bother you. He was just showing off for everybody." Kareena said once she caught back up with me. I was halfway to my next class.
"Kay, he embarrassed me in front of all those people." I felt my face turn red again. Just thinking about it made me turn red. "He got all up in my face, like he was King of Hanson!"
"Well for one, he kinda is King of Hanson." Kareena said making us both laugh a little. "Just don't let him get under your skin."
"Oh trust me, I'm not."
When I got home, I grabbed a jar of Nutella, a spoon, and a cup of strawberry lemonade. I went upstairs to my room and started my homework. I tried to get as much done as I could, but for some reason I couldn't get my confrontation with Trey out of my head. The way he got all up and my face and how I actually liked it! And when he grabbed my chin, sending shivers down my spine. Just thinking about it made me shiver.
Cheyenne, stop it! You can't be like all those other girls who drool at the site of him. Plus, that'd be so hypocritical anyway.
How does he do it? I'm supposed to hate him but instead, I'm starting to think he's cute and shit! What the hell is this?
