9 - "it's so weird"

chapter ix - "it's so weird cause you're disgusting and she isn't"

Noah's POV

I wave as Kammie gets on to her bike and pedals away towards her house. Then I turn and go inside and make my way towards Chloe's room. I need to have a little chat with my dear sister.
"You don't get to control my life!" I shout as soon as I enter her room. Chloe looks up from her computer. She seems surprised at my sudden outburst.
"What are you talking about?" she asks in a lame attempt to seem innocent. To make it seem like Kammie pushing me away isn't all her fault.
"You know what I'm talking about. You told Kammie to tell me that we had to 'slow down' or whatever the hell that means!"
Now Chloe looks slightly puzzled. "Wait, what did she tell you? Give me her exact words."
Now I'm the one confused. Chloe was the one who told Kammie what to say. Shouldn't Chloe know everything Kammie told me? I think back on our conversation and recall Kammie's words. "She told me that you wanted us to slow things down. Wait until you could process everything that's going on. She said you told her to say that to me"
"Actually I told her to take a break on your relationship."
"You what?" I ask, my voice growing louder. I can feel my anger returning.
"Look, I know you like her but I don't want you to date my best friend!" she shouts.
"Okay first, why do you care if we're together?" 
"I don't know, it's just so weird cause you're so disgusting and she isn't" Chloe answers.
"I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that," I say rolling my eyes.
"You said 'firstly, why do you care?' What were you gonna say after that?" Chloe asks.
"Second, I love her," I say confidently.
"No you don't," Chloe says shaking her head. 
"You don't know how I feel. You don't know that I don't love her!"
"You don't love her. And if you do you love her then it's the same way you 'loved' Tiffany and Beth and Elise. You 'love' her for a month or two and then you get bored and break her heart. I won't let you do that to my best friend," Chloe says before pushing me out of her room and slamming the door.
