Bridgettes Point of View

"Tell me about Ladybug." I repeated impatiently. I had to know who she was. Was I related to her?

He sighed, looking very upset about having to talk. "Marinette was Ladybug. I'm guessing that that's the reason why your aura was so strong that I had to bring it back."

My heart fell. I had to live up to all of that? It wasn't fair. Nothing was fair anymore. Maybe it would be someday, so I better get the worst out of the way.

"I want to go to school tomorrow." I blurted out before I could process what I was thinking.

"What! Why?" Master Fu asked, his face contorting into one of shock.

I sighed. Why did I want to go to school? It'd just make me feel worse about my current situation.  "I just want to get all the bad and stressful out of the way. These past few days have been very painful, so I just want to get it over with."

He nodded. "Although I don't suggest it, I know that you are a very responsible girl, and I trust that you're going to do what's best for yourself."

"Wait, didn't you say that you could help me get my memories back?" Mentioned in 'The Truth'

His eyes widened even more. "Yes, I did say that." He paused. "Well, I actually said that I had come with a way that we could try, I don't know if it actually works yet."

"How long does it take?"

He made a thoughtful expression before speaking again. "Assuming that I get it right on the first time, about an hour," I nodded excitedly. "But I will probably have to try it several times."

"Can we do it now?"

"You look exhausted. It's a big day tomorrow, too. You better get ready for bed and I'll do it in a day or two."

Now that he mentioned it, I was feeling my eyelids get really heavy. "Alright." I looked down.

"Bye!" Master Fu waved and headed out my door.

As soon as he was out of sight, I walked over and shut the door. "Tikki, spots off."

"Good morning!" I groaned. I was still tired, I didn't want to wake up. "Come on, it's almost time to leave for school!" I forced myself to pull my eyelids open, almost burying my head into my pillow when the bright sun from my window came into my view, burning my eyes.

"Five more minutes." I groaned, closing my eyes and trying to drift off to sleep again.

"Come on, Marinette!"

My eyes shot open.

My vision cleared so I could see Tikki floating in front of my face. "Don't call me that. I'm Bridgette, Marinette died with the gunshot, she's gone!" I felt my eyes get hotter, signaling that I was close to tears. I hate it when I'd start crying whenever I got mad.

"Doesn't change the fact that you're going to be late. Come on, you need to get up and get started! A good morning leads to a good day!" Tikki chirped, "you'll need it." She quietly muttered that last part, but I heard it clearly. My heart started hurting. She didn't even fully trust me to handle the situation well.

I sat up in bed and got out of it. "I better get to school."

I was dressed comfortably. My hair was in a ponytail with a black headband and I was wearing a blue sweater and black leggings with lighter blue shoes and a matching little purse for Tikki. I tried to dress in a way that I wouldn't be too noticeable, but I think my black hair and blue eyes would draw all eyes. I decided not to wear the wig and contacts because there was no point, the secret was out. I now looked identical to Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I was Marinette.

As predicted, while I was walking up to school, I felt the burning of many stunned eyes. I guess nobody really believed the people who have seen me before.

"Marinette?"

"Hello, Chloe. And it's Bridgette." Surprisingly, I found myself sounding nice to her, the girl who has been horrible to me, helping the cause of me killing myself, according to my guardian.

"No, you're obviously Marinette, and what are you doing here,... alive?" She looked genuinely confused.

I opened my mouth to reply, but then thought better of it. I turned around and quickly walked away, leaving her confused.

Many whispers and eyes followed me as I made my way towards my classroom.

Thundering footsteps behind me made me stop in my tracks. It sounded like someone was running. As the footsteps got louder, I realized that this person was running towards me. Before I got the chance to turn around, I felt something hit my back seemingly with the force of a truck. I stumbled forward, but caught myself as I understood that someone was grabbing onto my back. I whipped my head around to see Alya with her arms around my shoulders.

"What are you doing?" Unwillingly, annoyance seeped into my voice. How could she just ignore and torture me for so long and then just try to force her way into me?

"Marinette! I had no idea that was you! I'm so sorry, I was just upset!"

Weirdly, my heart melted at what she said. I nodded to encourage her to continue.

"How are you alive? Why were you hiding and in disguise?"

"I'm sorry, but do you think that I will forgive you?" Her excited expression fell. "And I'm alive no thanks to you. Also, Marinette died a while ago, I'm Bridgette, and that's not changing anytime soon."

Her face somehow got even sadder as her eyes got that wet look that means that she's about to cry.

"Goodbye, Bridgette." She was obviously trying to be mean, but her voice cracked in the middle, showing how upset she was.

"Goodbye."

I turned back around and headed up the stairs to the classroom. As I pulled open the door, I was faced with bright green eyes.

Sooooo sorry that I took forever! I feel so bad and will try to update regularly again. It's just that these past few weeks have been terribly busy. So, I took longer, but wrote this chapter twice as long as usual. I hoped you enjoyed!
