Flashback

I sighed as I looked out the window. Today was a sad day indeed. A girl had killed herself, and that girl happened to be the best superhero this city has ever seen.

"Oh, Marinette," I said, looking up through the window to the stars. "You had so much potential, you had yet to complete so much."

"Master,..." Wayazz said, zooming up next to my ear. "Do you feel that?"

I widened my eyes in surprise. This thing Wayazz felt must be strong if he was asking me. I took my eyes from the window and looked at the kwami. I then closed my eyes and focused, taking in everything.

I felt the gentle breeze that rolled through the city, I felt the love and gentleness of families, I felt the ever-lurking evil that came from Hawkmoth, but I felt something else too. I felt a fighting presence, one that was not going to be taken out. I felt Marinette.

Flashback End

I thought about this moment in my head. This was just before I had decided to bring back Marinette. Her spirit knew that she was not done, therefore she wasn't. I had felt something weird in the house and my mind went there.

I closed my eyes, taking in everything like I had done that time. I took in every calming feeling and Hawkmoths evil presence, now seeming stronger than ever. And just like before, I felt that fighting spirit.

Panicking, I quickly leapt off my mat and went to her bedroom as fast as I could, worrying for her. I stopped right outside her door, not wanting to burst in on anything. Slowly, I raised my hand and knocked.

"Marinette, is everything alright?" I asked.

When I got no reply, I got really terrified and quickly opened the door, only to find Marinette crying on the floor. But that wasn't what got my attention. What really captured my focus was a little black butterfly lying on the floor by the window that Marinette didn't seem to notice yet.

A dead akuma.

Yeah, I know, a short, filler chapter updated late at night 😔. It's Halloween and I had a full, late afternoon of trick-or-treating with my friends and then playing games, so I'm drained. know it's short, but I wanted to show how Master Fu knew that he needed to resurrect her, and I'm running out of ideas on what to do with this book. Please comment if you want the ending to be happy and satisfying, sad and painful, or a cliffhanger ending. I don't think I'll be making a third book of this story.
