A New Beginning

Hermione P.O.V

I couldn't believe this crap. We had another meeting today? Ugh. To top it all off, I saw that ferret, Malfoy again! How dare he show his face here after what his family did. I couldn't believe it!

Ron still hadn't handed me the signed divorce papers so we were still "legally" married but I'm pretty sure he's off shagging more women than Lavender at this point. I inwardly groaned as I shoved my office door open. I sat down at my desk with a silent whine. Taking out all my sheets of paperwork I started working on a new case. After all, the secretary of the minister of magic himself was always busy.

I didn't realise that I let the time slip. I was almost late to my meeting with the heads of everything in the ministry of magic. This meeting was to plan the Quidditch World Cup! Apparently we needed a new Head Of Magical Sports so that's what we got. I haven't got the chance to meet him or her yet.

I raced out of my office with all my notes and I knocked on the Board Room. This was where we had our meetings. Nobody was here yet, strange, I sat down at my usual spot. Next to the head chair.

After a few minutes people started crowding in, mostly familiar faces but a certain platinum blonde caught my eye. UGH! Why did malfoy have to be here?! And why was he here!? Haven't I gone through enough this week!

I shifted through my papers and handed one to The Minister Of Magic, Kingsley at the time. The meeting commenced and I was engrossed in everything The Minister was saying. "-but of course we are only letting two people go to the site before hand, and that's why I have chosen Miss Granger and Mr Malfoy for this very important trip." Kingsley turned to look at me and I replied with "um.. o-of course I'll go sir." I really didn't want to spend an entire weekend with the ferret! "Mr malfoy?" He asked. "Yes sir, I will definitely not miss out on this amazing opportunity". He did it out of pure spite of course. He shifted in his seat to send me a wink followed by a smirk, and of course I replied with one of the largest eye rolls I've ever given in my life.

Draco P.O.V

Was it luck or fate? I bumped into none other than Hermione Granger on Diagon Alley. The girl I was supposed to loathe with all my heart. Some part of me just couldn't.. but the insults just kept pouring out.

As I bumped into her I said "Oy, Watch where ya' going mudblood." That word. That god forsaken word. She brushed it off and walked away with hate in her eyes. I had learned to hate that word that my father had imprinted into my heart. Thank god he was dead.

My mother and I were in Azkaban for three months to serve time while my dear father got the Dementors kiss which of course ended in death for him. We mourned for him for a week or so, we got over it. Around two years later I realised I wanted to do something useful and turn around everyone's opinions of me. So I applied for an internship at the Ministry Of Magic. Just a few days ago I was appointed the new Head Of Magical Sports! I couldn't have been happier.

I walked into the ministry of magic and into the Board Room for the meeting. Some luck I've got, Granger was sitting down already taking notes. Of course the know-it-all got a job here at the ministry. Where else would she work?

After the meeting was over Granger tried to run out the door but I caught her arm before she ran down the stairs. "What do you want Malfoy." I could feel the hatred, disappointment and regret in her voice. It felt like a stab to the heart. I brushed it off and smirked at her "Would you like to grab some coffee Miss Granger?" She scoffed "Why would I want to you for coffee with you" I shrugged and replied "You've got to. Or- I'll tell the minister." I pointed at the Minster that was standing right outside the Board Room. "Alright Malfoy. We'll go for coffee because it pleases your pure-blood arse." I smirked and led her down the stairs to a new coffee shop.
