"Shall we be seated?" The doctor says pulling out my chair.
The waiter had seated us at a table that has a window view of the setting sun.
The orange glow of the sky makes his beautiful brown eyes sparkle, which makes me blush.
"So," I say to the doctor, after taking a sip of wine.
"Where did you take us this lovely evening?"
He grins, giving my stomach butterflies.
"Look to your right." I turn my head and see a tall triangular shaped building.
Light reflects off of its black cross hatched metal.
"Paris," I say, in awe.
"I've always wanted to see the Eiffel tower. It looks amazing in the pictures, but this- this is ten times better.""Actually, it's the planet Paris, not the city. But, they did have a chance to ship in the actual Eiffel Tower. You know- before the earth was engulfed by the sun."
"That explains the beach then." I conclude.
"Yeah..."
"Your such a interesting girl, I can just mention things like- the earth burning, or time travel- and you don't even flinch."
"Well, growing up with Captain Jack,
I know about all sorts of things.""Yeah, I bet that made for some confusing family vacations."
"Hahahaha! You have no idea how many times it turned into one of those, alien-hunting-trips."
"So I assume he told you about me? That why when you found my TARDIS- oh so long ago- you knew about me?"
"Yeah something like that."
"Um, so, Aria? You don't have to answer this- I'm still finding things out about you, even though I've known you for a year now- but, who is your mum?"
"Oh!!! No! No! No! No! Did you think Jack is my dad?! No! No! No!
I'm adopted!!!" I flail my hands about, hysterically trying to keep wine from squirting out my nose."God! I'm sorry for assuming!!!"
The doctors apology was almost as hysterical as I was."It's alright, your not the first. But no. I am defiantly, undeniably adopted."
"Well I'm glad we got that straightened out." He laughs.
"So," I say. "Who are your parents?" He tenses up, and has a sad look in his eyes.
"Id rather not talk about it. It's the past, and I'm trying to move on from it." He grins in a sad, amused way, that makes my heart ache.
I almost instantly regret getting into this topic.
"Anyway, what about Afton? Is she Jack's biological daughter? Although, I assume she's not because she doesn't have his big head."
"Afton is my non-biological sister and doesn't know her mom. And Jack doesn't have a big head. Well, usually," I say.
"Well, you haven't seen him the way I have. New Earth. Actually, only a few years from this time period. He was trillions of years old, biggest head I've ever seen on him."
"That must've been quite a time you had."
"It was,"
He says half speaking to himself, recalling the memory."I was with Martha then. We would go on so many adventures together. Smith and Jones." He smiles.
"I never did know how she felt about me, until she left me."
I started to feel awkward.
I totaly forgot about the other companions he had, and all the other women he met, that are far prettier than me.
I wonder how many others there were before me.
I mean, being over 900 years old, and able to change your face, he's gotta have had like hundreds of different girlfriends.
But what happened to them? Will he leave me like he did all the others?
I was wrapped up in all of excitement of the doctor and me that I forgot that I'm probably like all the rest.
Ya know what?
No I'm not. None of them had the story that I do, the power, the life.
And I know that for certain now.
Because, I bet none of them knew the doctor when he was a child on Gallifrey.
