I bolt upright, pushing off my blankets and making my hair stand up on end.
Then I realize I'm in the TARDIS.
The only place in the world I am actually, remotely safe.I smooth back my poofy red hair and force myself out of my comfortable bed.
I glanced at a clock, 10:15 by TARDIS time.
I slip on some slippers and a big, fluffy white robe, making my way out of my room down the hallway.
The doctors door was closed, and I assumed he was still asleep.
Funny, I'd never thought of the doctor to be one to sleep in till noon.
I wandered down some corridors and found a room labeled 'Kitchen' and I headed in.
I was greeted with the freakishly cheerful face of the TARDIS interface hologram.
"So you woke up before the Doctor, that's a first for any of his companions."
"Might I ask, do you always follow around his companions?"
"Not usually, but you I find you quite... intriguing.
"Uh huh... So where did you get this body? I mean, I know it's a hologram, but didn't it have to be a real person at one time...?"
"Yes I suppose, but I travel everywhere with the doctor, every single person that walks in here is loaded onto an digital archive. This is just some woman that he picked up somewhere from Ancient Greece."
"Uh huh."
I walk into the kitchen, it was totally pristine, with shiny appliances everywhere.
"He redecorated recently." The TARDIS interface says.
I open a drawer and pluck out a frying pan.
"So why does the doctor like for breakfast?"
"Fish fingers and custard. But since your the one with the skillet, pancakes will do fine."
I dig around for some pancake mix or flour,
"Your pretty helpful, TARDIS." I laugh at my own stupidity.
Minutes later the doctor walks into the kitchen sporting a plaid robe and a bowtie.
I slide a stack of pancakes across the counter.
"Are you psychic?" He asks.
"Uh... No... Why?"
He picks up a perfectly golden brown pancake and flops it around a bit.
"Uh huh, doctor, it's a pancake."
"WITH EXACTLY 14 CHOCOLATE CHIPS!" He explains.
"Do you not like chocolate chips?"
"No! I like them!"
"Do you have something against 14?"
"No! BUT THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I LIKE MY PANCAKES!!!"
"Doctor. You're being weird."
"HOW DID YOU KNOW I LIKE MY PANCAKES WITH EXACTLY 14 CHOCOLATE CHIPS?!"
I bust out laughing.
"I asked the TARDIS interface what you liked for breakfast.!" I continue laughing uncontrollably.
"She answered you?"
"Uh, yeah...?"
He starts laughing to.
"She hardly ever answers me.!" He cracks up.
-
We sit together at the breakfast table eating pancakes together.
"Oh god, I just realized, your arm!"
I freeze, mid-chew, my breath catches in my throat.
I try my hardest to look confused, I raise my arm and wiggle my fingers.
"I guess it was a hallucination then..."
"That's so weird... Can a hallucination be that... Vivid?"
He finishes his 7th pancake and I pick up the dishes to wash.
"Well." He stops mid sentence and pushes me out of the way of the sink, as I set down a plate onto a towel on the counter.
"Hey, you don't have to do all the work Aria..." He flashes me a smile that sends a chill down my spine.
"So where are we going to today?"
"Maybe... Rome?"
"Sounds good to me!"
I start to dash out of the room, but stop at the door.
"Doctor?"
"Yes Aria?"
"It's Ari, but, you wear a bowtie to bed?"
"Yeah, Bowties are cool, problem?"
I duct out of the room, and then stop in my tracks.
Running back into the kitchen, and pulling a bowtie out of my robe and chucking it at the doctors face.
I sprint to my room and slam the door, locking it.
I hear footsteps get louder and louder down the hallway and then the doctor screaming my name.
I laugh until my side hurts.
Then I hear the sonic screwdriver humming outside of my door.
Without warning the doctor broke into my room, pelting my with Bowties.
"Ahhh!!!" I run behind me bed and to my workstation.
I grab a gun that resembles a water-pistol and point it at the doctors head.
I pull the trigger and launch tiny Bowties at his face.
"Ohhhhhhhh, you play dirty!" He pulls out his sonic and points it at the ceiling.
"AHHHHH!!!"
Next thing I know I am knee deep in Bowties, and the doctor runs away laughing harder than I had ever heard him laugh before.
