Sabrina POV

As he carries me through the door, the warm  feeling of my house engulfs me. My drunk self slouches against his bare chest, my head resting on his shoulder. His grey jumper around my body smelt of his cologne.

The soft click of the door closing causes me look up, seeing the mirror behind my door. His tone back was cover in marks.
Cuts & bruises.

As my arms hold onto his neck, I could feel him slightly tense in pain. He tried not to show it, but I could still tell it hurt him.

"Ethan" I manage to mumble.

As he slowly walks up the stairs. He turns his head, digging it into my shoulder.

"Yeah Sabrina" his muffled words echo through the fabric of the jumper.

"Why are there bruises on your back?" I whisper slightly.

His muscles tense up as he continues to walk up the stairs, eventually getting to the top.

I get no answer.

"What happened Ethan?" my words slowly fade off.

He takes a deep breath in, causing his chest to rise up. My body moving with it.

He lets out a sigh.
"Nothing.., I just.. you know.. was at boxing
practice today & um.. missed a few shots."

Even though I'm drunk, I'm still somewhat aware of things.

As I lift my head up, i turn my head to look at him. He avoids eye contact with me as I speak.

"You don't do boxing Ethan. You told me you don't play sport"

He ignores me again.

As he reaches my room, he lays my body onto my bed. He pulls the sheets up & places me under them, tucking me in. As my head lays against the pillow, the painful weight build up in it seems to disappear.

As my eyes start to close I feel his two hands place either side of my head. I look up to see his eyes glisten in the moonlight shining from my window.

Slowly his face comes closer to mine. As his lips meet my forehead, I could feel butterflies fill my stomach. As he pulls away, a slight smirk appears across his face.

"Get some sleep okay Seb"

I nod my head.
He looks back down at me then pushes himself off my bed, making a slight creaking sound. As he slowly walks out of my room, he stops in the doorway.

He turns around to face me, guilt covering his face.

"Um.. do you mind if I crash the night, I uh.. got locked out"

As I tilt my head up to look at him I stare in his direction . I knew he was lying, but I didn't say anything.

I nod my head in agreement.
A thanking smile appears on his face.

"Thank you I really appreciate it Sabrina"

He turns back around & walks out of my room. Just before he closes my door I speak up.

"Hey Ethan" I manage to say

He pushes the door open & pops his head in, waiting for me to continue.

"I know those bruises..., they aren't from boxing"

He looks down at the ground, sighing softly. I sit there, waiting for him to reply. He looks back up at me, his eyes slightly teary.

"I'm okay Sabrina... don't worry okay. I'll be fine"

He gives me a fake smile, then disappears behind my door, closing it behind him. The faint sound of his footsteps vibrate through my room, slowly getting more difficult to hear, the further he went down the stairs.

Before I can think anymore about Ethan, I fall asleep, the alcohol getting the better of me. As my eyelids close softly over my eyes, a feeling of relief fills my head as darkness covers my body.

Days without sleep
Without rest

I couldn't seem to get my life right

But now I can rest
I can sleep in my bed
This is what I needed right now

And he helped me get it.

That boy has saved my life.
