Amanda's POV
I'm on my way to school with a pissed off mom and well I'm pissed off too. As mom gets to school the car slows down and I get out without telling her goodbye. What a way to start 7th grade. Anyway, I see everyone sitting with their friends in theclassroom. I don't really have any friends. My parents say they only slow you down in life, so why have that liability. So I just sit in the back corner with my books. I just read and read and forget the world. That happens a lot when I read. After 10 minutes of reading I hear someone calling my name. Oh shoot its the teacher.
"Sorry Mr. Higgins. What did you say?"
"I said could you please move your seat. Matthew is going to sit next to you."
"Ok sure."
I've never heard of someone named Matthew going to our school. He must be a new student here. I turn to see what he looks like and he's got black eyes and brown hair. Yup definitely a new kid.
"H-hi" Matthew stuttered quietly.
"Hi..." I said awkwardly.
"So do you um l-like any books?" He asked.
"Yea I love books!"
"Me too."
"Hey do you think we could be friends?"
"Really you wanna be friends with me? I'm sure your other friends would make fun of you if you started to hang out with me." He said grimly.
"Actually I don't have any friends. You would be my first friend."
"Well then sure. I'll be your new friend."
"Cool! We better get back to paying attention before we get in trouble."
"Yea your right."
And with that I had successfully made 1 friend. Wow my life is such a disappointment. Well the bell has wrung and it's off to class 2. I wonder what will await there.
