"Amara, can you hurry up if you want to have a good record in school, you have to be early!" my mom yelled from downstairs as I dragged my boxes down the steep stairs, trying to avoid fall flat on my face.

On our way there, we stopped at the ice cream lab for a little snack and reached the bus stop. I remember the first time I stepped into this station. It seemed so humongous and now it looks no bigger than my compound back at home.  I hugged my mom and dad good bye and turned to face the next three months of my life.
My school, Heaven on Earth, is soooo big. The bus station was how far anyone who is not a student or staff has seen. We all enter the bus as a form of bonding. I actually made my best friends there. As soon as you enter the deep forest-ish environment, we wait for about a minute and then you enter Heaven on Earth, literally. It is as large as only God knows what and it has a building for every profession in order to prepare the senior students (ie SS1-SS2 or high school) for the future.
Our principal, Mr. Emeka Ebuka owns a tech firm in almost every country in the world, so every senior gets a special phone that is somehow reluctant to social media but can still browse and check emails and stuff like that.
I can bet you that being a senior is so gonna be great. I can't believe I am finally in SS1! It is so gonna be great! I can finally go to the music studio any time I want cause I want tot be a musician or an artist or both.

My whole ride was boring cause my friends were in a different bus and my twin brother just disturbed me. When I reached school, I entered my dorm room in school, the one I shared with my bffs, Amy and Precious.
By time I was done packing, I heard a knock on the door. I was expecting to see Chiji, my twin bro, but instead I got a pleasant surprise. My bffs, were at the door beaming with bright faces. We did a group hug and then I helped them unpacked into the hostel room we've shared for the past three years.
At 9P.M, we had dinner at the dinning. It is as big as... I don't know, and every class has two tables for themselves. I like the first days and the last cause we have the best foods then ,
     Cue the drumroll...
An all you can eat buffet.
If I should start mentioning the food there, I would be mentioning at least fifty different foods from candy down to veggies and meat.

**********

The second day of school was basically orientation. There were a lot of crying yesterday in the hostel especially from the JS1 (or Grade7) and JS2 (or Grade 8). A lot of people were missing their parents. I remember when I used to miss my parents back at JS1, but I don't think I cried that much.
During orientation, we were given our timetables, we all have classes till 1 P.M and then we go to our various job houses. Then we were all taken to our job houses. Amy went to the hospital cause she wants to be a pediatrician and Presh and I went to the art house. My school life is quite awkward. I am a science student and I want to be an artist.
The art house is a tall building with the different floors all painted according to the category of art in that floor. For example, the first floor is painted with a measuring tape, some scissors, a sewing machine etc --- sewing and fashion designing. The second floor is  painted with some masks, stages, etc --- drama. The third is painted with the treble clef, a lot of musical notes, etc --- music. The top floor is just art.
Presh's department is fashion designing and mine is music and art. When we got there, we signed up and then went to our floors, I went to the music room. The music room is more delightful than I could have ever imagined. This is where all the music magic happens. Almost all the musical instruments are here, from the wood wind, to the brass, to the strings, to the traditional instruments, name it and it's here.
"Hey Amama" there is only one person that calls me that. It can't be. I slowly turned back to see the smiling face that I always dreaded.
"Hi Ace... what on Earth are you doing here"
"I thought that I could see my Amama once again".
"All liars go straight to Hell"
"My mom was tired of all the 'not - Nigerian'  stuff. So after five years, I'm back"
"Nooooooo" I thought. Ace is one of the problems if my life. He is Chiji's best friend who was our neighbor. He left for America five years ago because his mom got a job there. I always knew that she would never last there, she always disliked the traditions done abroad and always preferred our traditions in Nigeria. To make matters worse for me... Ace had a huge crush on a girl he liked to call Amama.
Well I guess it is back to school.
