02...Why Ace??

     "Hello... Earth to Amara." He cut short my thoughts " I can see you still have a mind far far far away from Earth. Typical Amama"
      "Why did you come to Heaven on Earth of all the schools in Nigeria" or the whole globe in particular
        "Wanted to go to the same school as my best bud and see his lovely sister"
        "Ahh" I turned to see the beaming face of Mr. Brown, "Amara and ... you must be a new face" he looking at Ace
         " my name is Ace Kingsley"
        "Okay, Amara and Ace, welcome to the best music studio you could ever imagine. Each instument has a teacher. So this term, every student will choose five instrument to play asides singing. So whenever you're free come and play. The music studio is always open." Then he walked away
         I think I am going to start with instruments I can't play like the electric and acoustic guitar, saxophone, clarinet and then I'll play the keyboard (although I can play it).
       "What do you plan on learning?"I totally forgot Ace was here.
       "Five instruments" I said sarcastically
        "What five instruments?"
     I told him
       " thats good, cause I want to learn, electric guitar, keyboard, drums, violin and viola"
        "That's nice I guess"
      The bell cut our discussion short.

       Everyone went back to our class. Each class is divided into subclasses that are named after precious stones. I'm in Jade.
     This year there are three  subclasses in SS1: Jade, Ruby and Diamond, and each with fifteen students in each class. As funny as that may seem, there are triplets with the exact same names and in the class of their names.
     As we entered, we were greeted by the warm smile of Mrs Adeleke, she is the English teacher and our homeroom teacher. She told everyone to pick a seat that is suitable for them. I chose the seat at the back next to the wall. Thats the most comfy seat for me. Unfortunately, Presh and Amy are in Diamond so I am alone, At least that's what I thought for the past three seconds. Then I saw a tall figure that sat in front of me. He looked back and gave me a boyish grin. Ace.
      God, please explain to me what is going on.
   "Why on Earth are you here?"
    "Cause I still like you"
    "Aren't there other girls that you could have liked for the give years you stayed in America?"
    "There was one... but I later found out that she was a bit spiritually strange... So the love died."
     "when did you find out"
     "Two years ago"
     "So you never liked any other person for two years?"
     "Enough talk about me... how about you? Who have you liked this past five years asides me of course?"
      " to start with I never liked you" lie. I have liked Ace since I was ten, now he is even more handsome. "Secondly, no one. You know I am not as emotional as most girls in this universe." To add, there is no fine guy in this school, but my friend totally disagrees with me. "Let's get to work" I said to change the subject. all this love stuff just makes me want to gag.

"Today was so fun" Amy was the first to speak as soon as we got into the hostel. "Do you know there is are two fine newbies in our set? One is Jason and the other Ace." Of course. Amy was always the first to spot a fine boy. Give her less than a day and she will find the latest hot guy I mean it. "Luckily, Jason is in my class." that girl could write a novel and title All About the Boys
    "Amara, you know your brother is in my class right?" Precious asked. "He said I should tell you to meet him after dinner before you come back to the blocks. He said something about some mama. I don't know what that even means but he said it will give you a hint speaking of which, what does that even mean?"
    " When it is time for you to know, I'll tell you both. I promise"
    We went to our separate tables to do our homework. I pulled out my headphone, plugged it into my phone and played 'Made a way' by Travis Greene. Music is the only way I can do things efficiently. That is why I want to be a musician.

After dinner, I waited for my brother at my chair. I saw him with Ace and they were both headed in my direction. As soon as they reached me, Ace started.
     "It's been long since this happened,"
      "What?" I asked
     "Having my two best friends in the same place as me having a 'non fighting argument'
     "Chiji, why did you call me" I asked trying to change the subject.
      "I needed to introduce my best friend, and your ex-admirer..."
      "Admirer," Ace interrupted, "not  ex"
      "To you" Chji continued "but if seems you guys have already met, so bye"
      "Chiji wait!!!" I was too late. He had already gone. Having a discussion with Ace is frustrating. I gave him a sheepish smile "so..." I tried to start a conversation, but as usual he had something to say.
     "I just want to say I'm so happy that we get to spend time together... again." Before I knew it, I was in his arms. wait, did he just hug me?? I have a feeling my life is in for a surprise, I'm just not sure whether it is going to pleasant or ugly. I guess I just have to wait to find out. Why Ace???
