I don't know what just happened.

I'm pretty sure he hates me and never wants to talk to me again.

I silently walked to the hostels.

I arrived before Amy and Precious, so I just changed to something comfortable (i.e. a slightly over-sized shirt, 3-quarter jeans, and palms) and started doing my homework.

By time I was done, Amy and Precious hadn't come yet, so I picked up my Bible and read it.

I read 2 Timothy 2:22. It said:

"Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart"

I understood that I shouldn't just bother myself about youthful stuff (i.e. Ace or Noah); just God and God alone. But Noah, God, why is he so cute, it is a complete distraction. Well, I guess is should just bear with all this madness.

God please help me focus on you and my studies and not get distracted by youthful passions.

Just then...

"hey girl, what's up" Amy's voice is as distinct as ever.

"fine why are you late?"

"I had to go to work. A JS1 choked on a huge fish bone. Oh and did you hear; we have to be in the hall in about..." she checks her watch "three minutes. One minute late, and we're dead. Mr. Emeka Ebuka is gonna be there."

That's why I haven't seen a lot of SS1 students in the hostel

Wait a minute...

"it takes like 5 minutes to get to the hall." realization just hit.

"that's why we need to run."

**********

We ran and got there just in time.

I wonder what they needed our class for.

"Good Day students. As most of you know, I am Mr. Emeka Ebuka. I am sure most of you are wondering why we are here since we have already had our orientation. Well, this has nothing to do with orientation. Actually, I am here to inform you of our annual Rainforest Trip that is occurring in a month's time. This year, as other years, SS1 will be the class to represent people to host this trip.

Of course, your class captain will be part, alongside with 14 other students from your class. So you guys have until Monday evening to give me a feedback. Today is Thursday, so you have about four days to give me a report. You can ask your teachers to help if you want. Thank you for sparing me some of your time. God bless each and every one of you." then he walked out, followed by the students.

"I can't believe we are going to host the trip" Amy squealed in delight.

"well, we haven't decided those that are going to host it, so don't get your hopes too high." Precious said.

"I'm sure I'm going, because everyone loves me... what about you?" Amy quickly responded with a cute smirk.

I know what's going to happen next; and to avoid it I had to think of something...and fast.

"hey, I'm pretty sure we're going to make the team, but if we don't, we will be supportive of anyone that makes the team, right? After all, we are best friends. For now, let's shove this aside, time for dinner, I overheard Ms. Love (our lunch lady) saying that we are having shawarma for dinner. Yum"

"Yes!!" they both exclaimed in unison, and we did a high five.

During dinner, we all had to make our shawarmas ourselves. Mine had sausages, peppered meat, chicken, cabbage, carrots, sweet corn and a little chili.
