Hiccup and Astrid had a crush on each other. Everyone in Freshman year knew it. But they just wouldn't tell each other!!
Well Snotlout was sick of this. He was going to ask Astrid to the homecoming dance today! And if Hiccup stood up and took her instead? He was goin DOWN! He wouldn't... Astrid was HIS!
"Hiccup will never be brave enough to take Astrid to the dance! And she'll be mine! My girlfriend! Mwa ha ha ha! Snotlout you are a genious!!"
So at lunch Snotlout walked up to a table where Hiccup and Astrid were sitting across from each other.
"Hey Astrid," he smirked. "You're lookin mighty fine today."
Hiccup's face became heated, but he remained silent. Astrid turned to face Snotlout.
"Um.. thanks Snotlout."
"You're hair is so shiny it just lights up my day Astrid! And your beautiful ocean blue eyes! Oh they are to die for!"
With every word Hiccup got more and more jealous. But what really did it was when Snotlout asked Astrid to homecoming. That got Hiccup furious.
"Astrid will you go to homecoming with me?"
Hiccup jumped out of his seat. "STOP!" The whole cafeteria turned to look at him, but he didn't care. It was now or never.
"Hiccup?" Astrid got out of her seat as well and stood in between Hiccup and Snotlout.
"Astrid. I've had a crush on you since we were just little kids. Ive just never had the guts to tell you. And I was GOING," Hiccup eyed Snotlout angrily, "to tell you this just before HE came over here and started flirting with you. Look I know you probably don't like me back and I get it. But I cannot stand the thought of you going to the dance with Snotlo-"
Astrid took hold of Hiccup's shirt and pulled him into her, and kissed him.
Hiccup's cheeks were as red as a cherry.
"Hiccup you are so oblivious sometimes." Astrid chuckled. "I've had a crush on you too."
"In that case.." Hiccup reached over and pulled out a vase of Dum Dum suckers and Smarties which happened to be Astrid's favorite candies) and handed them to Astrid. Then he pulled out a giant poster that said
'Be a SMARTY and take this DUM DUM to Homecoming?'
Astrid's heart melted. She set the vase of candy down on the lunch table and hugged Hiccup. Hiccup hugged back.
"So is that a yes?"
"Hiccup you are such a.. such a.." Astrid struggled to find the right word.
The whole cafeteria shouted "SUCH A DUM DUM!"
Astrid laughed as Hiccup pulled Astrid in for another hug. "Yes you are a Dum Dum. But you're MY Dum Dum."
Astrid jumped up on the lunch table and shouted "Here that girls?! Hiccup is MY Dum Dum!!"
"Awwwww!!" The gang shouted.
Hiccup somehow managed to go even redder in the face than he already was.
Snotlout was furious. "NO! NO NO NO! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MY GIRLFRIEND!!"
Astrid shrugged her shoulders. "Sorry Snotlout. I'm sure you'll find someone else."
That got an "ooooo!" From the cafeteria.
"Shut up everybody!! And for the record I think you are the brattiest, stupidest, weakest girl in Highschool Astrid!!!"
Everyone gasped.
Astrid put her hands on her hips and looked down at Snotlout, disgusted. "Excuse me?!" She then turned to see Hiccup swing his arm back, "Uh ohhh..."
Hiccup punched Snotlout right in the nose! POW! Instantly making his nose bleed.
"Ahhh!!! Why would you do that?! Mom Dad Hiccup punched me! I think I need a nap.." Snotlout fainted and fell to the floor.
Astrid cringed. "Ouch!"
Hiccup managed to wake Snotlout up and help him to the nurses office. Snotlout decided it was better not to insult Astrid when Hiccup was around.
