*Analia is 10 and Tucker is 2*
It was the night before Snoggletog. Everyone was in their huts with their dragons. Most people were already asleep, but not the Haddocks. They weren't that lucky.
Astrid plopped down on the couch next to Hiccup. "Oof those kids are killing me. Tucker didn't want to go to bed and Analia wanted to hear fifty million stories."
Hiccup chuckled and pecked Astrid on the lips. "I'm sorry milady. I could have gotten them."
"It's fine Hiccup. I just need a moment to relax is all."
Toothless and Stormfly rolled their eyes and walked up the stairs into the kids' room to watch over them.
The fireplace gave off a warm cozy glow. The hut was nice and toasty warm. Hiccup began to hum 'For the Dancing and the Dreaming'
He stood up from the couch and pulled Astrid up with him. He put his hands on her hips and Astrid wrapped her arms around Hiccup's neck and chuckled as they began to slow dance.
   *upstairs*
Analia heard a rumbling and knew that Stormfly and Toothless were walking up the stairs.
Toothless went over to Tucker's bed and Stormfly guarded the door, seeing as Trigger was already watching over Analia. The dragons took their Child Protecting very seriously of course. Not! They were too tired for such things!
Tucker giggled and sat up in bed to hug Toothless. He warbled and licked the small boy, then laid down and went to sleep.
Analia thought she heard something. "Tucker did you hear that?" She asked, sitting up in bed as well.
"Yea. I bet it's the monsters."
"No silly. That's mom and dad! They're... singing! I've never heard them do that before."
Stormfly snored over by the door. Analia knew they would be able to sneak around the dragons and get down stairs.
   "Come on Tucker!" she whispered.
"Where are we going?" Tucker grabbed his special blanket and stuck his thumb in his mouth as he followed Analia out the bedroom door. He didn't really care, he was just curious. Anywhere Analia went, he wanted to go too.
When they got to the staircase Tucker pulled his thumb out of his mouth. "Analia I can't do stairs."
"Right." Analia said, turning to her baby brother. "Ok I guess I'm going to have to carry you."
So Analia picked up Tucker and started down the stairs very carefully. "Tucker you're heavy. How does dad carry you up and down the stairs every single stinkin time?" Analia panted.
Tucker didn't answer. When she finally made it down the stairs Analia set Tucker down. The two children crawled behind the couch to watch.
    "What are dey doing sissy?"
   "They're dancing Tuck."
"Nuh uh." Tucker shook his head.
"Yes they are. That's the way mommies and daddies dance... wait they're dancing faster now..Woa mom looks so happy. And look at dad! They're good dancers look at how fast they are! I wanna be just like mom when I grow up Tuck."
Hiccup twirled Astrid and she laughed. "Hiccup we're gonna wake the kids!"
"I'll swim and sail on savage seas with ne'er a fear of drowning and gladly ride the waves of life if you would marry meeeeeeeeeee!"
Astrid and Hiccup burst out laughing. "Oh we haven't sung that in forever." Hiccup laughed as he embraced his wife.
Astrid giggled as she rested her head on Hiccup's shoulder. "No we haven't. I swear it gets better every time."
"That it does milady. That it does."
The couple kissed, and that's when the kids blew their cover.
   "Eeeeew!" Analia giggled.
"Yucky!" The two children rolled around laughing on the floor.
Hiccup couldn't help but laugh. "What are you two doing you're supposed to be in bed!" He laughed as he scooped them up and plopped down on the couch next to Astrid.
"You two are supposed to be asleep." Astrid giggled.
Hiccup pointed at the stairs. "Toothless you're babysitting privileges are revoked! The point is to keep my little chickadees in their beds!" He collapsed into fits of laughter along with Astrid, Tucker, and Analia.
"So what made you two decide to venture down this time?" Astrid asked when everyone was finally able to stop laughing.
"We heard you and Dad singing and we never heard that before, so we snuck downstairs and hid behind the couch to watch. You are such a pretty dancer mom."
"Yea." Tucker agreed. "But you're good too daddy. Just not as good as mommy."
   "Well gee thanks." Hiccup chuckled.
"Mom?" Analia asked as she climbed into her mother's lap. Astrid grunted. "Analia you're getting big on me. Stop growinnnng!" She kissed her daughter's forehead.
Tucker snuggled into Hiccup and put his thumb in his mouth.
   "What baby?"
"That was a special song wasn't it?"
"It was a very special song. Daddy and I have sang that to each other since before you were born."
   "Where did it come from?"
Hiccup sat up a little, careful not to disturb Tucker. For he had fallen asleep already.
"Well to start, that is called 'For the Dancing and the Dreaming'"
   "That's a cool name for a song."
"Mmhmm. You're grandma and grandpa sang it when they were married. And your mother and I started singing it after my dad died. We decided to make it a tradition. Once day when you get married you and your husband will sing it, and when Tuck gets married he and his wife will sing it."
   "Cool!"
"It is cool." Astrid suddenly realized it was very late indeed. "Ok off the bed my little dumplings! If you want Odin to bring you presents you have to go to sleep!"
"Awe come on mom one more story? Pleeeaaase?" Analia pleaded.
"Nope. No way. I am all out of stories."
   "Daddy?"
"Oh alright one more story but then it's bed time."
   "Yay!"
Hiccup thought for a moment, then decided to tell Analia about an adventure with the gang when they lived on the edge. At the end, as usual, Analia had all kinds of questions. Such an inquisitive girl.
   "Snotlout wrote a book?"
   "Yep."
"There's a dragon that leaks slime?"
   "Yes, Anlia."
   "Can I read Snotlout's book?"
"You'll have to ask him. Now come on it's time for bed. You don't want Odin to skip you do you?"
   "No. But I'm not sleepy."
Astrid stood up and steered Analia up the stairs and into her bedroom. "Yes you are. You're exhausted."
Hiccup chuckled and scooped his baby boy up. "Come on little man. Let's get you to bed." And headed up the stairs as well.
Once the kids were tucked in Astrid and Hiccup started off for their room. Hiccup stopped at the door and told Astrid he'd be in in a moment.
He scratched Toothless under the chin and he warbled. "Thanks for watching them bud." Toothless smiled. "Alright sleep well guys." Hiccup waved to Trigger and Stormfly. "And for the love of Thor do not let them wake me up before sunrise!"
