(Sorry for my previous edit at the top. It was kind of aggressive. Please feel free to ask me any questions if you are confused!)

Okay, first, I was planning on posting this last week but school is a thing, unfortunately, and I didn't have time. This story also took about a month to write.

I'm sorry for the huge gap in time. Gosh, I feel like I'm apologizing every chapter.

Anyway, this is the longest one-shot I have written thus far. I hope you enjoy! (Warnings: Rape/Non-Con, Eating Disorders, Unhealthy Relationships, Strong Language)

Summary: Who knew broken promises would shatter his ability to fly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jimin ran a hand over his skin, shuddering as goosebumps appeared in their wake. The mirror in front of him told no lies.

——

Jimin was jumpy.

At each noise, he would frantically look around. The fear of being caught overwhelming. He was doing so well, only to have it all crashing down. Mirrors no longer scared him, food was enjoyable; hunger no longer clawing at his insides with each bite.

The sound of the door opening snapped him out of his stupor. Fervently, Jimin dressed and ran from the bathroom. However, not before making a promise to himself. One he vowed to keep forever.

Dinner was difficult. The food taunting him as his stomach protested angrily. Nevertheless, he persisted. The other members were too distracted to notice the small boy slinking away from the table; plate still full and stomach still empty. This became routine. One Jimin slipped far too easily into. The hunger pains were easy to ignore, what with the intense pain coming from his heart.

The lack of food coupled with the stress proved detrimental to Jimin's health. His energy decreased alarmingly, his weight dropping with each passing day. Jimin's silent cries for help were easily ignored as bigger issues took precedent. The upcoming comeback being one.

——

Jimin pushed his hair out of his face. The silver color was odd and different. Jimin was shy as he stepped into the room. Insecure and unsure about his appearance, the member's soft gazes felt scrutinizing and suffocating.

"It looks good, Jiminie." Hoseok had said brightly. The other members quickly agreeing, save for one.

Jimin looked at the ground, fidgeting as he waited for the most important opinion of all.

Jungkook's.

Jimin had felt affection for the younger for many years. Only recently had he been able to put words to his feelings. Jungkook's rejection stung, only to be half-heartedly soothed with one-sided promises. Jimin still clung to his feelings, naively believing in a future with the Maknae. Oh, how disappointed he would be.

Before Jungkook could open his mouth, the dance teacher entered abruptly and loudly. The unwelcome entrance spelling away Jimin's desperate fantasies with Jungkook. He tried desperately to push down his disappointment. He knew he should let go of these feelings, but it was so difficult. Especially with the younger in such close proximity to Jimin for the opening, Jimin couldn't help but continue to entertain thoughts of a possible relationship.

Jimin tried not to feel bitter as he watched Taehyung and Jungkook cozy up together. He looked away, suddenly reminded of all the times Jungkook rejected him. Shoving him away in genuine disgust. Will it ever change?
