Wow, long time no see. Man, it's been a while. I'm not really going to bother with excuses, if anyone actually reads what I put at the bottom, you can read what's been going on.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this fluffy short piece! (Warnings: None, Light Mentions of Child Neglect (?))
Summary: Storms can do no harm when love-filled promises are made in the safety of one's arms.

Jungkook woke to the sound of rain pattering on the rooftop, lightning streaking across the sky. He sighed as he gazed out the window. He had always loved the rain. As a child, Jungkook would run outside, dancing in the rain, enjoying the water flicking off his damp bangs, his mother yelling at him to come inside. Jungkook smiled at the sweet memories.
Soft sniffling and whimpering interrupted Jungkook's daydream. Jimin was cowering in the corner, his hands pressed tightly over his ears vainly blocking out the crashes echoing through the night. Jungkook's heart broke at the sight.
"Jimin?" Jungkook called softly, slipping of the bed towards his lover.
"I'm sorry," Jimin whispered as the other approached. "I didn't mean to wake you."
"No, you have nothing to be sorry for." Jungkook answers softly. "Come," he holds an open hand down towards Jimin. As Jimin shakily reaches out his hand, a crash of thunder shakes the house. Jimin curls into himself, whimpering loudly.
"Love, it's alright."
Love
"Gukkie, I'm scared." Unshed tears shine in Jimin's eyes as he looks up towards Jungkook.
"I know, baby. Come now, give me your hand. Let's go downstairs."
The two shakily make their way downstairs with Jimin snugly wrapped in Jungkook's embrace.
"Something to drink?" Jungkook offers as Jimin curls up on a chair.
"Chamomile?" Jimin asks, tilting his head cutely to the side. Jungkook smiles warmly, leaning over the counter to gently caress the smaller's face.
"Of course." Jimin sits in silence as Jungkook works to make the tea. Once Jimin has a steaming cup of tea cupped in his hands, Jungkook towards him.
"Now, love, tell me what's got you so scared."
Jimin wrings his hands nervously. "I don't like storms. As a child, I was often left alone. One night, a huge storm caused the lights to go out. I hid under my bed crying for hours." Jimin sniffles lightly. "Um, my parents never noticed. I don't know. Whenever I hear a storm, I'm just reminded of all the nights I slept on the hard floor under my bed because it was dark and I was scared. It brings bad memories. I—I'm sorry. I don't mean to be a burden."
"Oh, my baby. Come here." Jungkook opens his arms and Jimin all but falls into them. "You can let it out, Min." Jungkook adds softly. Jungkook blinks away his own tears as the small body in his arms begin to shake as Jimin begins to cry.
After seemingly hours, Jimin's cries subside to soft sniffles and the wetness on Jungkook's neck begins to dry.
"You know," Jungkook begins. Big, beautiful brown eyes lift to meet his. Jungkook's hearts melts a little as he stares down to his lover in his arms. "Storms are not all bad." Jungkook turns his body so they face the large windows facing the front of the house. "Look, watch as the lightning lights up the sky. The reflection of lights on the water droplets on the window. We could do so much together." Jimin blinks in confusion. "Imagine us dancing in the rain. Me calling you beautiful with water droplets stuck to your lashes reflecting those beautiful brown eyes. Looking up towards the sky, watching the sheets of rain land on us. Spinning around, laughing as water sprays on us. A bright rainbow arching over the sky just for us." Jungkook gestures with his hand before looking back at Jimin, smile soft. Jimin's face is full of awe. "Just imagine," Jungkook whispers leaning in.
"I'd like that." Jimin whispers after a few moments of silence.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"And, guess what?" Jungkook adds.
"What?"
"You'd never be alone with me."
Jimin's eyes widen. "Really?" He whispers eagerly. "You promise?"
"I promise. Never again."
Jimin's face lights up into a smile and Jungkook finds himself having to return it. His smile had always been blinding, eyes scrunching up cutely and pretty teeth showing. Jimin leans in gently pressing their lips together in a soft kiss.
"Never again." He repeats softly.

Ah, cute.
I actually got this idea from a Drarry headcanon I saw on Instagram. Anyway, life has been going as it does. Time seems to be something I never really have. That's probably not the case, however, as I am quite well-versed in procrastination. I don't know what else to say. Gosh, I hope I'm not this awkward in real life.
Thanks for reading and being patient with me!
