There are eight girls left in the room. Briar was called about twenty minutes ago. Now, the anticipation is killing me. I check my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts again. I tend to do that when I get nervous or uncomfortable.
Finally, the tall brunette lady walks in. "Number sixty-four." I gasp. Yes, it's finally my turn. I stand up and Libby gives me a reassuring smile. I am ushered into the front room, with the chandelier. There is a panel of five judges. They ask me my name and some more information. I plug my iPod into the speakers. Someone presses play and "Cool Kids" by Echosmith fills the room.
I begin my contemporary dance. As soon as the chorus kicks in, I lose myself. I end the dance with an aerial into the right splits. The judges whisper to each other and tell me to meet back here at eight o'clock tonight. I thank them and leave.

"I think my audition went well. I didn't mess up, so that's good." Libby tells Briar and me. "Yeah, I didn't want to seem desperate, but "Amnesia" was just the perfect lyrical song." Briar explains. We were all told to meet at the dance studio, so I think that that's a good sign. "It's 7:45. We should probably get going." I explain to my friends.
I notice that there are only a few other cars in the parking lot. "Ok, let me make sure everyone is here." A short man tells the group. as we sit in the back. "London?" "I'm here." The black-haired girl in the front raises her hand. I remember her as the first girl who auditioned. The man calls Libby and Briar's name. I am called last.
"Great, let us cut to the chase. You eight dancers have been selected to participate in the choreography for 5 Seconds of Summer's tour." Every one of us cheer. Libby bursts into tears. I'm completely astounded. The rarity that any of us would be chosen is insane, let alone all three of us. I close my eyes and try to understand what is happening. Briar asks me to pinch her.
"We saw great potential in every single one of you, but that doesn't mean that it is going to be easy. You will have long practices, fitness sessions, and times when you are away from your family for many months. So, if any of you aren't prepared for this please speak up." The short man explains. No one says anything, even though I'm sure someone out there is questioning himself.
"Well, great. Now, I would hope that you are prepared to discuss this with your parents, because those of you who would be starting your Senior year of high school, will now be doing school on the road." I understood that if I actually did get chosen a lot would change, but now it all seems so real.
