It's been a week since my parents and I signed my dancing contract. Today I get to meet 5SOS! I'm trying to act cool, but I'm super stoked.
I finish curling my hair and applying my mascara. "Honey, the girls are here." My mom calls up to me. "Do I look okay?" I ask her. I am wearing a gray Paramore t-shirt, black skinny jeans, a black and red plaid shirt, and blue Converse. "Lovely." She responds.
Briar, Libby, and I walk in with London, who we have grown to really like. Libby giggles and Briar smiles. London and I just stare straight ahead.
As we turn the corner we hear voices, Australian voices. We squeal in excitement. The first thing I notice is a blonde boy wearing the exact same plaid shirt as I am.
"Girls, this is Andre your choreographer." Matt, 5 Seconds of Summer and our new manager, says to us. We greet a tall man with dread-locks. "I'm so excited to work with you all." Andre exclaims with a thick Jamaican accent.
When he finishes, the boys introduce themselves. "Hello, I am Ashton." Ashton waves at us with a huge grin on his face. "I'm Calum." Calum grins at us and does a little happy dance. "I'm Michael and I like In N' Out milkshakes." He does a weird face. "Hey, I'm Luke and I shower regularly." He gives us a thumbs up. "Oh, and I love your plaid shirt." He smiles at me. I smile back. I wish I had the confidence to say more, but I'm a little star struck.
We go down the line introducing ourselves. When it comes to me I say, "Um, hi. I'm Aspen and I generally stay up way too late on my phone." A few people laugh, but I'm to busy noticing the adorable grin on Luke's face.
"Ok, now that we know each other's names, we are going to discuss business." The boys groan at the word business. I can't help but smile at that. "The boys album was #1 on the iTunes Charts in America, and now we must prepare for the upcoming headline tour in North America. The stage will be set up like an 'H' with the boys in the middle and the dancers on the outsides. We want the main focus on the boys and their instruments, but the dancers will add a nice touch to the arrangement. So, practice will begin Monday for both of you. Any questions or concerns?" Matt explains to us.
"Do I get to dance with these lovely ladies?" Michael asks Matt, while grabbing Calum's hand and doing a strange version of the tango. "No, Michael. We want the audience to enjoy the performance. Well then, this meeting is over, see you Monday." Michael pouts and Matt ends the conference.
Libby, Briar, and London talk in a group while I check my Twitter feed. "Hey." I look up into beautiful blue eyes. "Um, hey." I respond. "The boys and I were just wondering if you and your friends want to go to dinner with us." Luke asks me. I look back at my friends. "It depends, where are you taking us?" "It depends, where do you wanna go?" And with that a wonderful night began.
