[ 3.2 | CHAOS RISING ]
IT CERTAINLY DID not take minutes. Hours and hours of research later and they were no closer to finding a way to break into the abandoned bank than they were when they first learned of the location.
Daisy, Stiles, and Scott departed from the animal clinic with high hopes that it would not take long to solidify a plan. The Fulton girl also believed that it would be a piece of cake to figure out how the thieves had broken into the bank vault all those years ago. But as five o'clock turned into six then to seven, eight, nine, and before they knew it four in the morning rolled around and they still had nothing. Surely a news article would have been written about the story, but even those were scarce and lacked the information they needed.
Some time throughout the night, Daisy passed out on Stiles's bed. There were dozens of papers scattered around her and the floor as she and her two best friends looked over everything they could find that mentioned Beacons Hills First National by name. She was surprised that Stiles's printer even had ink by the time they finally stopped hitting print. She fell back onto his pillows at some point, closing her eyes for a moment to calm her brewing headache, but never actually opened them again.
Daisy shifted across the bedspread, rolling over to get away from the light streaming in through the window. Most of the time, Stiles's bed was in the perfect spot to not capture the morning light, but that day it seemed to seek out the mattress just to spite her. She shoved her face into the pillows, ignoring the voice calling from the doorway. At least, she thought it was the doorway.
"Boys! Daisy!"
Daisy jumped, pushing herself up to sit on the bed. She blinked rapidly, looking over in the direction of the voice to find Sheriff Stilinski staring between them. She glanced over to where Stiles and Scott where, which happened to be in the desk chair and on the carpeted floor, both staring over at the man dressed in his uniform.
"I go to get to work." Sheriff Stilinski stated. "You three –get to school." He turned to leave, until his son's voice stopped him.
"Dad!" Stiles called out, forcing his father to turn back toward him. "Heather?"
The man sighed, shaking his head. "No, nothing yet." He then proceeded to walk out of the room with a sympathetic expression.
Once he was gone, Stiles released a breath and looked between his friends. "Ten hours and nothing."
Scott kept an optimistic tone as he said, "We're gonna find something."
Daisy sighed. "Yeah, but finding something doesn't help Erica. She's dead and Boyd is about to follow her." She lifted her hands and rubbed at her sore eyes. They burned intensely either from the lack of sleep or from reading so many pages of tiny black letters for so long. But in that moment, she did not care. She just wanted to figure out their plan before more people got hurt, or even died.
