DAISY REALLY NEEDED a break. Her mind needed a pause from the onslaught of information she absorbed over the last few days. There was too much that she learned in such a short amount of time. Between Erica being found dead, Boyd running rampant through the preserve, finding dead bodies, and listening to her friend claim that virgin sacrifices were the next craze in Beacon Hills. She definitely needed a break.

The next day, Daisy woke to several text messages from Stiles. He went on and on about having sex so he would not be the next target. She nearly blocked his number once he proposed that she also needed to have sex to make sure that she did not die like the others. Daisy did not even believe Stiles's theory about the sacrifices, let alone enough to go out and have sex just incase he was right. And besides, everyone knew that those things usually happened in threes. There were already three people dead in the hospital morgue, not to be insensitive or anything.

Daisy sat at the island counter of her kitchen with a plate of lopsided pancakes in front of her. She cut into the syrup covered cakes with her fork, shoving them into her mouth as she watched her mother bop around the room to get ready for her day.

Lindsay learned about the multiple deaths that transpired over the last two days. The woman had been adamant in making sure her daughter was careful and observed her surroundings, almost going as far as to make the girl carry around a bottle of pepper spray, but Daisy thought that was a bit overkill, especially when her boyfriend and best friend were werewolves.

"Okay, my shift ends at eight, so that means you'll be here alone until then." Lindsay voiced as she poured the steaming coffee from the pot into her silver tumbler, capping it with a lid so the steam did not escape.

Daisy nodded and swallowed her mouthful of pancake. "I know, Mom. I've be alone in this house dozens, if not hundreds, of times over the years."

Lindsay sighed, turning to face the teenage girl. "Yes, but that was before people started getting killed left and right. I thought after they figured out that it was Kate Argent a few months ago that this would be over."

Daisy pressed her lips together to prevent herself from saying something she shouldn't. If only their issues would have ended with Kate's death, but sadly they had only just got started. "Well, that would've been wishful thinking." She said, finishing off the rest of her pancakes.

"Yeah, I guess a little too wishful." Lindsay moved over to the island counter and reached out for her purse. "Just –please be careful from now on." She told her daughter in a somewhat pleading tone.
