A month had passed since Lance and Keith's conversation and within that month, a lot had happened:

Lance was caught around the waist as he walked around the corner from dinner, Keith picking him up and laughing as he lifted him in the air. Keith set him down and put him up against the wall as Lance pushed against his chest in a cute protest.

"Really? You had to scare me like that?" Lance retaliated.

"Yes, I did. I wanted to surprise you" Keith replied. He leaned forward and kissed Lance's nose before Lance pulled away and dragged him into a kiss.

"What did you want?" Lance asked.

"You wanna go on a date?" Keith asked with a smirk.

"A date? On such a late notice?" Lance asked with worry.

"Come on, it'll be fun" Keith pleaded. "It's for a special occasion."

Lance looked up at him with a confused look before his eyes opened in shock.

"Oh quiznack, please don't tell me I forgot our anniversary" Lance said. Keith smiled, pulling him in for a kiss.

"It's okay," he whispered against Lance's lips. "You've been really busy helping with the rebuilding of schools and I've been busy trying to work with the Galra soldiers coming in. It only came to me today that it was our anniversary so we both forgot." He paused. "So what do you say? Last minute 'Happy 1 Year Anniversary' Date?"

Lance rolled his eyes and kissed his nose teasingly.

"Fine, let's go." Keith smiled and grabbed his hand, leading him out of their room and to the motorbike. Keith helped Lance onto the bike and he sat on the seat in front of him, patting his pockets before he powered on the bike and sped off.

They hadn't been to their secret spot since the first time Keith had taken Lance there on their first date. In all actuality, Keith had known their anniversary had been coming up for a few months and had been planning this for a while. He didn't blame Lance for forgetting though. Lance really was busy with his duties at the Garrison. In preparation, Keith had spruced up the spot and re-powered the lights, making it look presentable to Lance. He had also hung garlands around the trees in all different colors, planting flowers around the shore as well. He wanted this to be perfect for Lance.

Once the vegetation had started to pick up, Lance perked up, knowing exactly where they were heading. His grip tightened around Keith's torso as Keith sped up the motorcycle, eager to get to their secret place. Once they had reached the wall of trees, Keith pulled the bike to a stop and hopped off. He offered a hand to Lance and Lance took it, hopping off of the bike and lacing his fingers with Keith's. Oncenthey got to the wall, Keith turned around to face Lance with a grin.

"You ready?" Keith asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be" Lance said with a smile. Keith grinned up at him as he pushed away the vegetation, Lance stepping through the path. Lance let go of his hand as he stepped to the other side, looking around him with a childlike smile. He saw all the garlands, lights, and flowers plotted in his three favourite colours: purple, pink, and blue. Keith watched him from behind as Lance met his gaze.

"You did all this?" Lance asked, exasperated. Keith nodded with a smile.

"Of course" Keith replied. Lance looked away from him with his huge grin, looking at the flowers around him. He walked over to a hanging garland, touching the pink flowers softly. He laughed nervously as he took everything in, impressed by the decorations Keith had set up. He also loved that he had picked the bi colours to decorate with, making it even more special.
