Age-5. Harry is older than John by eight years. I don't know how old they are so I'm just going to use an eight-year age gap. Also, I'm going by the American school system in some areas and not the British school system entirely so I apologize about this being incorrect in some areas.
John Watson was trying to get on my shoes all by himself after getting himself dressed. His mum was packing his lunch while Harriet was grumbling about starting school again. She had told John that it was a waste of time and that you don't learn anything useful by the time you hit year 6.
Mum scolded Harriet for telling him that but John didn't care. He knew that she wasn't lying to him. Nevertheless, he was still excited to start year 1. His goals were to make friends that would last forever.
At the moment he was trying to tie his shoes but, he couldn't get it right. He was still struggling to tie his shoes when he had heard a voice. It sounded pretty young. The mysterious voice was about John's age. He had looked around but, no one was there except Harriet in the den and mum in the kitchen.
He brushed it off but, it came back. This time, he had heard what the voice had told him. "Bunny ears, John. Make a bunny ear with your laces." He listened to the voice carefully and succeeded.
" Good job, John. I knew you could do it. " John smiled at the small praising he had gotten from the invisible boy.
His mum packed John's bag and grabbed him and Harriet by the hand. Harriet led John to the car while their mum got her things to drive them to school. Harriet helped him get strapped into his cat seat since he was still a wee bit too small to be able to sit by himself. Harriet sat next to him once he was in his car seat.

Mum had walked Harriet and John to the doors of the school. It was huge since it held many kids of different grades. Harriet left them while Mum took John to class. She led him to the classroom that had bright, neon colors splashed across the room. It was as if the room was a real-life rainbow, that encouraged children to use their imagination.
His bright, multicolored eyes wandered around the classroom, taking in all the things that this classroom had to offer. His eyes soon stopped to look at the colorful legos that were near the window. Two boys were near the legos that seemed content with being only with themselves. John hoped that they were okay with having another friend around.
" Hi, my name is John! What are your names? " He had also hoped that he didn't scare them off. Mum says that he way too excited when talking to others.
" My name is Greg and my friend's name is Michael, but he likes the name, Mike. " The boy to the left of John, Greg, had seemed happier than Mike. John noticed the different mood Mike had and wanted to make everyone happy. So, he was determined to get Mike to turn his frown upside down.
" Can I play with you guys? " They both nodded and so John sat next to them. They pulled out more legos and played until lunch/recess came along.

Greg, Mike, and John all ran outside to go to the playground. They had gone to the monkey bars to see who could get to the end the fastest. Greg went first, then Mike. John went last and it turned out that he was the quickest! They cheered in unison and tried to run to the next area of the playground. Unfortunately, a group of kids stood in their way.
" Look at this, the two loners found a new friend! " This boy who was probably the oldest out of all of the kids sneered at the three boys who looked frightened. Well, John wasn't scared. He thought that everyone could be friendly and just coexist with ease. But, John was a little naïve so he didn't realize that life certainly did not work out in that way.
" Hey! Can't you just l-leave us alone? We just want to play. " John's voice trembled as he took notice at how big this guy actually was. But he wanted to make a point and refused to back down because someone was bigger than him.
" Oh wow! The little midget wants to be a big boy. Well, guess what? You are a stupid kid that needs to know their place. Boys, let's teach these babies why you should never mess with actual big boys. " The boy with the dark brown hair was practically spitting venom at the three boys with the way he was talking to them. All three boys braced themselves for what was supposed to come but suddenly a bunch of noises came from the group of older boys.
The three boys opened their eyes and saw that the group of boys was being hit by an unknown force. Greg and Mike were confused by this but little John had a feeling that it was the voice from earlier doing this for them.
He was mad at the voice for doing this since he was taught that no violence was necessary. But, he was happy that the mysterious force was protecting not only him, but his new friends. The group of boys ran off and the three boys cheered in happiness. Greg and Mike were making up theories for what had happened. John was listening to them until the voice came back.
" I know you hate violence, John, but this was necessary and I only do it so I can protect you. Please forgive me. " The voice sounded guilty for hurting John but John didn't want him to feel upset. He knew that protecting the ones you care about sometimes resorted to bad situations and decisions. So, he whispered something to the voice that made him smile.
" I forgive you and I hope that you keep protecting me. I love new friends." John felt a gust of wind hit him so he assumed that he had left. But he still felt a presence watching him as he ran with his new buddies to go and explore more of the playground. He ignored it this time, and the mysterious voice had no hard feelings for it. He knew that John appreciated him and was happy to have him at his side.
