Chapter Five - Herbology

Potions with Slythiern I thought to myself, as I began to look at my timetable and made my way towards the dungeons. My arm was swollen I had wrapped it in a bandage but I could still feel throbbing against my skin.

As I walked into the classroom  and began to wonder what happened to my brother, he wasn't in the great hall for breakfast this morning. And It was starting to scare me , what if something happened to him.

The second bell rang as all the students walked into the room and took their seats, and before I knew it the seat next to Me was occupied, he remained silent and didn't say anything to me. And I couldn't find the words to say to him, maybe we both didn't known what to say after our encounter last night, I began to turn my attention towards professor Slughorn as he entered the classroom.

"Today we shall be carrying on with our potions, before u can brew your potion you need to learn about your potion questions are on page 645 please fill these out in your joint workbooks" he said as I reached for our workbook underneath the desk but too my amazement I noticed Tom had already filled out all of the questions , he was now sitting with his head buried in a book as I shook my head and chuckled slightly

"Your welcome smith" he said looking at me as If he was waiting for recognition instead I mimicked his words under my breathe  as I began to read over the answers  he had put down, when I noticed something on my desk.

It was a piece of paper.

"Annabella, throw another paper in my class again and its detention for you " professor Slughorn said as Annabella smiled "sorry professor" she said as she looked towards the ground. As the whole class turned their attention back towards what they where doing as Annabella smirked at me and pointed towards the letter as I began to open it.

So this morning I decide to wake up early and go into the library before anyone else, and guess what i found, your brother running into the Ravenclaw Common Room Half Naked. Dam who knew waking up early would have so many advantages.

I began to laugh slightly at what she had said, as I looked at her placing my hands over my eyes for a brief second before looking at her "please tell me u looked away ?" I mouthed as she shook her head and chuckled slightly. professor Slughorn glanced At  Annabella causing her to quickly look down At her workbook. I placed the note back into my pocket

"What was that about? " I heard tom whisper to me as I looked at him "nosey much " I questioned causing him to shake his head.

"Curious, that's all " he said smirking as he began to read his book again, tom stared at her something about her had changed. And then he saw it as he placed his hand on her neck and pulled a chain from around her neck out of her shirt. "You still have it " tom asked as I looked up at him confused, shivers had gone up my spine as his fingers  brushed against my neck touching the chain, tom had gotten me that necklace for Christmas when we where 10 he had saved up his allowance for months, washed cars and mowed lawns around the town. And finally had enough for it, it was a sliver chain, with a sliver  heart pendent and a blue stone in the middle.

"You still have it..." He asked as I nodded my head, as he smiled "thought you would of thrown it away " he said running his fingers up and down the chain "Why wouldn't I , I'm not like some people who promise things and then break them." I said taking back the chain and placing it back in my shirt. "What do you me-" he started saying before I cut him off "you stopped writing tom not me, you cut off out friendship why " I said Turing towards him as he remained silent for a while. "Its complicated " he said looking at me for a brief second, just as the bell rang and he quickly stood up and walked out of the classroom.  I rolled my eyes and got up and I walked outside the castle,as the cold air hit me I began to walk along the pathway towards the greenhouse. All my classes where finished for the day and I had agreed to help professor sprout.

I opened the greenhouse door, professor sprout needed me to help with a certain project apparently, and she said she said i would understand what to do better than the other students would, and I'd be working with someone. Maybe this could get my mind off tom for a while. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon right?

"Ahh Mrs Greyback you're here, are you familiar with the spell Igitusemta " she said walking towards me as I nodded my head "the ability to set fire..." I said slowly as she nodded and then began to pull me towards a table of plants . "these plants are getting a bit out of control and I'm afraid they need to be taken care of, tom will be here monetarily to help you." She said as I stood there not sure what to think.

"Tom, I'm sorry professor but I can't work with tom at the moment, he's just a bit too much to handle. " I said just as I felt the presence of someone else in the room. "Don't worry the feeling is mutual " tom said
as he walked into the room with his slythiern scarf wrapped tightly around his neck as he clenched his jaw as he walked past me. "I'm sure it cant be that bad?" professor Sprout said looking at me as i rolled my eyes. "he's selfish, arrogant, and a big..." i began to say as tom cut me off "Finnish you're sentence "  he taunted as he took a step closer towards me "git..." i said as professor Sprout shook his head and turned to leave "get to work you too..." she said as i walked towards the plants and began to start casting the spell on them.

"you know you..." tom started saying before i cut him off, "look lets make this easy for you and for me, you wanted to ignore me, so lets just keep it  like that and Finnish this so we can get out of each others hair." i said moving to the other side of the room, and leaving him on the other side. after a half an hour of silence Professor Sprout came out of her office and then came towards me and tom "Sierra..." she said as i turned to fave her "darling would you mind going down to the library and going into the restricted section for me and getting one or two books out for me. i would do it myself but I've for papers to grade." she asked as i nodded my head and then looked at her " sorry professor but don't you need a password for the restricted section." i asked as she laughed "yes yes silly me..." she said grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill writing down something and handing it to me as i took it and smiled and grabbed my bags and headed towards the library.

shortly after Sierra had left, Tom grabbed his bag "professor I'm done" he shouted as he quickly raced out of the room, and after sierra.. he needed to get into the restricted section and she was his ticket in and he was willing to get in by any means necessary.
