So upon watching Season 8, my friend and I agreed that this story will be based on the idea that this is an alternate reality. This reality will follow some things consistent with the show but not everything. We kind of wanted to expand on the "what-ifs" that the show has arisen from our imaginations and wanted to challenge ourselves to bringing them to the story.
It is still based after the second season so please keep in mind that those events do not change. I am also currently trying to edit some of the older chapters, so if you are a follower to the story, I am so sorry for the changes! I am hoping that these edits will be a positive thing to the fanfiction, but I understand if it is hard to follow.
