Dear Simon,
The day finally came when I told you the news. The day I'd dreaded for many months at this point, hit me with a smack of reality. I hadn't chosen to do it on the right day unfortunately, it was a great day for JJ but I was forced to tell you this news on a special day for our best friend.
I felt bad, that I'd probably ruin his party when I dropped the news. JJ has been pretty close to both of us for such a long time.
I'm sorry that I did to you what we said we wouldn't do; to keep secrets from each other.
I know I've done you wrong, and by the time you receive these letters I'll be long gone, but I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and understand why I've done this.
I wasn't trying to hurt you, I wanted to protect you.
With so much love,
Daisy. He used to be stubborn, JJ. Now we were throwing his 23rd birthday party; celebrating him and all that he'd achieved at such a young age.
He was still a bit stubborn and obnoxious but we loved him regardless. This all made me think back to the very first day I met the two boys.
It was a wild one, one of the most entertaining days of school I ever endured; and the most painful.
In the afternoon, I hung out with my friends by the courtyard. There was only three of us; Leah, Jade and I. We are our sandwiches, leaning roughly against the wall. Leah was confirming Jades source of afternoon gossip about some couple in Year Seven.
My attention was only brought into the conversation when they mentioned a Year Seven and some guy in my year, Year Five that constantly kept going at each other. Leah and Jade were betting on when they'd finally reach boiling point and who'd throw the first punch.
"Who are they?" I asked, only half interested. We went to private school, fights didn't happen that often so of course it caught my attention. But I could bet that the two guys involved were two pompous airheads that kept clashing.
Everyone was excited for them to start throwing punches and actually fighting instead of just swearing at each other.
"Some guy called Simon in Year Seven and some other chap called JJ. I guarantee it's gonna happen sometime today. They've been at each other for ages," Jade explained, taking the last bite of her sandwich and dawdling over to the rubbish bin at the end of the wall.
"Maybe they're gay and really in a relationship but this is how they're hiding it," I suggested with a shrug of my shoulders.
Leah nodded at my suggestion and mumbled something about not being surprised if that was true.
We got up together and made our way inside the school for our classes. A bunch of people crowded the halls, gathering to watch something unfold.
