Chapter 14- Bonding Time (Xan)

I wake up feeling weird but refreshed considering I actually took a nap without feeling afraid or uncomfortable, I feel a presence behind me so I slowly get up so I don't wake them, it's Gamora, I remember the events before our nap and smile, she looks peaceful, so Instead of waking her or staying in bed I decide to quietly leave the room to let her rest, the door closes softly behind me and I see Xan still in the same spot, in the spinny chair, looking up at the ceiling, I pull out a chair and sit across from him, he moves his head from the ceiling to me, "What's up kid?" He asks, I shrug, still kind of tired, "Nothing really, just feel weird from my nap, haven't had an actual nap in forever" he laughs slightly and responds, "Neither have I, I almost did but Rockets making a ruckus down there" right on queue I hear a loud noise as if something metal has fallen and a yelling Rocket, "GAH!!!" Xan laughs, "I can tell he's having a rough time down there" I laugh along, after our laugh it goes quite, I decide to ask Xan if he's going to stay or not, "So...what are you going to do after we get the ship fixed and land?" He looks up in thought, "I'll probably find a ride with someone, I'm pretty convincing" he chuckles slightly, I force a laugh, he looks at me worried, "You okay kid?" I look up at him and nod, "Yeah, just...I'm going to miss you is all, I thought after all that you would want to join the Guardians" I say quietly, he looks at me shocked and asks, "You would miss me?" He then starts laughing, making me look down in embarrassment, he ruffles my hair, making me look up at him, he has this big grin on his face, "I thought after all of that, you would want nothing to do with me but I guess not, you have a big heart kid" he tells me, still ruffling my hair, I swat his hand away lightly and look up at him in hope and ask, "Does that mean you'll stay?" He stops laughing and sighs, a small smile on his face, "Sorry kid, I'm not a big family man, I like to travel and cause trouble so I'm definitely not fit to be a Guardian" he says softly, I nod slowly, kind of upset about him leaving, he notices my sadness and says, "Hey! don't worry about it kid, we will definitely meet again, so don't treat it like a goodbye, just a..." he thinks for a bit, trying to find a good word to use, "Think of it like a see ya later, okay?" He asks, I smile at him and nod, he grins back, happy to make me feel better, are moment is ruined by a Rocket yelling in frustration, Xan laughs in amusement, he then says to me, "I think he might need some assistance" hinting for me to go down there, I hesitantly nod and get up, "Wish me luck" I say, Xan laughs, "Will do" saluting me, I slowly walk down the hall and see a latch on the floor saying control room, "Here we go" I say to myself.
