Blinded By Lies

Prologue

*Lucy's POV*

The dim light in this narrow hallway screamed danger. I didn't want to continue but I knew I had too.

Selena disappeared a few moments ago. She's my little sister. The only reason we are here is because our Dad went missing a week ago. We found out that this is where he should be so Sel and I made a plan to get him back. The fact that Selena disappeared wasn't part of the plan.

As I enter a cold grey room, I absorb the raw atmosphere. I took slow silent steps, whispering Selena's name as soft as I can. I scanned the room with worried eyes in hope to find her.

Instantly, my body froze.

My eyes widen as I see her small petite body strapped to a steal table on the far left corner of the room. I've never seen true fear in her eyes before. What did she have to go through when I wasn't there?

"Well, well, well," a man holding a long needle close to Sel's neck grins, "Who have we got here? Seems like she's a little lost."

He slowly pulls away, stoping the needle from hitting Selena's neck. He stocks towards me, a disparing smile making it's way to his chapped lips. Suddenly, he snatches both of my wrist with his thick large hands.

I stare at the large hands that were cuffed around my wrist tightly. I caught a glimpse of a small familiar symbol on his left wrist. He seemed to notice as his eyes widen slightly but, he plays it off with an evil laugh.

"Ahhh Lucy," he smirks, "I'm afraid you'll have live life without your memories."

Unknowingly, he urgently grabs my shoulder and injects me with a long needle that Selena was about to be injected with.

I felt the frigid liquid flow into my veins, making me have the urge to faint.

Immediately, I slam towards the floor and the last thing I hear is Sel's voice screaming my name.

(A few hours later...)

*Selena's POV*

"Let's get out of here," Alec exclaims, quickly bulking my seatbelt with quivering hands. I could tell he was scared. His dark brown eyes no longer held those flecks of gold that made it appear as if he had an inner fire. Instead, his eyes looked dull and black as if he's never seen light before.

"What about the others?" I reminded, pushing away the thought of my brother being frightened. I mean, weren't we all?

"They'll be fine. If we stay here, we will just put them in more danger. Lucy doesn't remember anything so she won't be a threat to them," Alec informed, "Now I know they can always use her against us, but it's unlikely. Right now, they think she's dead. We will come back for her when they realize she's actually alive. Her identity must be held a secret from everybody, including herself."

"Why can't we just take her with us just to be on the safe side?" I inquired.

"Because she'll be confused. We will tell her later on in the future. For now, let's just let her live a normal life," Alec explained. A sigh escapes my lips as I lightly shook my head. Her life is anything but normal.

"Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall are coming with us, right?" I ask, knowing my brother would at least bring one of his best mates with him.

"Liam is coming, but Niall, Louis and Zayn will stay behind. Louis will make sure everyone in town is safe while Niall will be keeping us updated on Lucy's activity. Zayn will be her protector. They will be the only ones knowing about Lucy's identity. Liam will help us build a base deep in the forest where no one will find us. You've already made the blueprints right?"

"Yeah," I affirmed, "What about Vanessa, Ashley and Harry?"

Alec nodded, "Zayn already told them the plan. We trust that they will cooperate correctly. If they mess up, Lucy will be hunted and we won't be able to protect her. The plan is the only thing Vanessa, Ashley and Harry will know. We must keep our location a secret or else you will be in danger. Just remember Selena, your the only one who can stop their destruction. It's why they are going all measures looking for you. "

I stayed silent as I glanced down at my left wrist. There is a small symbol shaped like a circle with the letter S in the middle. I remember my dad told me to hide this symbol from anybody. I assumed it's a really rare birthmark that people would kill to have.

I am completely wrong.

"Don't worry, Selena. We will come back in 5 years. We just have to prepare on our own without them." Alec assures.

"But what if those bad guys find us?"

"It's impossible. But if they do find us, I'll be here to protect you. It's why I was born first. The big bro always protects the little sis," he smirks, "I promise I won't let anything happen to you."

I simply nodded as he closes the door, making his way to the driver's seat.

The zombie apocalyspe will happen once they find out Lucy's alive.

When they do, I will be ready to slay all the zombies including those hunters.

Hate is flooding my veins. It won't take long until it takes me over and I won't be scared to show it.
