Selena's POV

I adjusted my black coat and pushed a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I pressed on the door bell, hearing the vague ding-dong sound from inside the house. Instantly, the door flew open.

"Selena?" Zayn questioned a bit confused. I nodded and pushed passed him so I could get inside.

His house was the same; black furniture, white painted walls and white carpet. He always kept the colors to a minimun. He didn't like anything too fancy nor too colorful. He's always a living mystery.

"So," I huffed as I plopped onto the couch that was closes to the front door, "We need to talk."

He simply sighed and gently sat down on the couch in front of me with the coffee table separating us.

"What about?" he asked, leaning in a little to where his elbows laid on his knees while his hands intwined together. He knew this must be very important for me to be here a year early. I thought Niall told him already, but I guess I was wrong.

"The hunters are after her," I informed. He opened his mouth to say something but immediately closed it. The room filled with silence as I stared directly at him. We made eye contact but he quickly averted eyes.

"Is your brother here?" he inquired as he took a quick glance at the window.

"No," I groaned as I ran my fingers through my hair, "He went with Liam to train outside the fort."

"Right," he nods slowly, "Does he know that you are here?"

I bit my lip as I shook my head.

"Shit," Zayn cursed as he face palmed, "Selena, you can't be here. The fact that you are here is exactly what they want."

He stood up, pacing towards the curtains. He shut it closed, fear racing in his features.

"Selena, go to Niall's house. I can't have two people wanted in the same house. It will be too easy." Zayn ordered.

"Wait, Lu is here?" I asked.

He mentally slapped himself as we heard loud foot steps running downstairs.

My eyes widen as I quickly stand up. I hurried towards the front door but it was too late.

"Who are you?" a soft voice interrogated me. I slowly turned around as I bit the inside of my cheek.

"Just Zayn's friend," I answered. As I observe her, I noticed she looked different. Her bangs weren't pinned back like it was when she was younger. Instead, her hair was in a fishtail braid, hanging loosely against her left shoulder.

"So you're not his girlfriend?" She wondered.

"What?! Absolutely not!" I immediately shook my head.

"I just assumed because Zayn never invites anyone over unless it's Niall or Harry. So inviting you, a girl, to our house is a very big deal."

Zayn stood next to me awkwardly while I stood there speechless. I didn't know what to say to her.

"She's kind of taken," he muttered.

Both Lucy and I stared at him.

Zayn played with the hem of his shirt as he continued, "She's dating Harry."

My heart skipped a beat. Why is he lying?

"Harry is taken?!" Lucy whinned, "And to think that we could of gotten married."

I glared at Zayn. I am certainly not dating Harry. I haven't even contacted him since the day I left this town. We were just friends.

"Anyways," Zayn huffed, "Selena was just leaving."

He opened the front door and shoved me outside of the house.

That asshole.

* * * * *

I banged my fist against Niall's front door, waiting impatientely.

As the door opened slightly, a pair of beautiful emerald eyes met my plain brown ones.

"Let me in," I demanded, ignoring the fact that he seemed familiar. When I briefly walked in, I was met with the darkness. It wasn't completely dark though. I could still make out a few objects.

"Niall!" I called, "Where are you?! I need to talk to you! It's important!"

I spotted Niall leaning on the kitchen counter chugging down a beer.

"Niall, what the hell are you doing?!" I cursed. Niall snapped his head towards me and gave me a hesitant smile.

"What are you doing here?" He wondered.

I metally killed him. Is he actually serious?!

Suddenly, I felt two large arms from behind me, attach to my waist. Brown curls brushed my cheek as I felt a slowly steady warm breath tickle my neck.

I immediately pushed them away.

"Don't touch-" Before I could continue, I gazed upon the man who hugged me. It was the same man who opened the door.

"Sorry," Niall sighs, "Harry is a hugger when he's drunk."

My jaw instantly dropped.

Harry.

*Flashback*

"Be careful! You might trip!" I scolded as Harry jumped on a nearby log.

He looks back at me with a wide grin, his dimples slowly cratering.

"Why would you care?" he asks, wiggling his eyebrows, "Have you fallen for me yet?"

I roll my eyes but a smile pranced its way onto my lips, "Shut up! This is serious! If you trip, I'm going to get in trouble!"

"Is that really all?" he smirks, cocking his left eyebrow at me.

I bit my lip. Everyone knows that Harry's whipped for me. Lots of people make fun of him, but he could careless of what others think.

"Idiot," I mumbled as I crossed my arms.

"You're idiot," he winks.

*Flashback Ended*

I darted towards the light switch right next to Niall, flicking it on. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I focused on 'Harry.'

My eyes widen as I expected a cheeky boy. Although it really was Harry; he was no longer the Harry I once knew.

His face was expressionless. His hair no longer held complexion. Instead, it was dull with no shine. His eyes were still beautiful, but as I stared at it, it felt as if I was staring at a blank wall. His lips were slightly chapped and his skin was completely pale.

He looked sick.

I hastily looked towards Niall, blinking a few times. I noticed Niall carefully taking sips of his beer, making me glower at him.

"Does he live with you?" I question, ignoring his stupidity. Niall responded with a simple nod.

"Then where's my room?"

"Somewhere upstairs," he slurred, waving it off with his hand.

I simply rolled my eyes as I approached the staircase.

Another asshole.
