Basically, the goal, to put this into vague words; The goal of the Adam and Eve project was for Eve(You) to choose and Adam and teach him human emotions(mainly love), and the result of that love would result to a new superior race. Which is why Karlheinz ended up pissed you didn't choose an Adam before.

"Hello (Y/n), it's pleasing to see you again, " I heard his calm, slick voice. Despite sounding so cool, he was still a jerk.

"Fuck you Karlheinz, you sent me back in time! I thought I was going to be stuck there forever..."

"Yeah what's your deal old man!" Ayato called out.

"Ah yes, it was all a part of my plan you see; telling Kino to revive Yui, only for her to kill (Y/n)...deciding on keeping the Eternity Pocket watch so you'd rebel against me and help Azul... I planned all this!" Karlheinz laughed maniacally.

"Father, give me the Eternity pocket watch," Kino demanded.

"Hahaha! You think I'm just going to give this to you?! You are aware this can send people back in time right?! Why would I give such a powerful tool to a child?" Karlheinz's voice echoed through the fallen throne room.

"Where are we Karlheinz?" Reiji spoke out.

"We're at our old Castle, it's in ruins after the war that raged between Vampires and First Bloods... of course we reigned victoriously, isn't that right Carla? I recall seeing you here killing some of our soldiers." Karlheinz said smugly.

Carla glared. Karlheinz was taunting Carla for his loss in the war.

"It's too bad your father's death, he was really the only one strong enough to rival me~"

"Shut up!" Shin glared darkly, smashing his fist into the already cracked ground.

"Now that Eve has chosen Adam, it's already clear that a new power generation will start, so how about we play a game." Karlheinz crossed his legs, smirking at us deviously.

"Just what are you playing at, old man?" Shu narrowed his blue eyes at Karlheinz, staring at him seriously.

"12 verses 1. All of you against me. Let's see who'll remain victorious. Whoever takes my head gets the throne! And of course, all the magic power within me!" Karlheinz stood up on the seat of his throne, looking down at all 12 of us.

"What if we're disinterested in becoming King, " Reiji asked

"Hmmm, I never looked at it that way... but living is becoming far too boring for me...I've been here for far too long," Karlheinz rubbed his chin in thought.

"Oh, I know!" Karlheinz snapped his fingers.

The moment he snapped his fingers, everything around was black, except for a giant purple forcefield that surrounded all of us. Bolts of electricity sparked through the forcefield, but it was also emitting a black glow with black particles. It was definitely some kind of dark magic.
