Alex's pov

I grew up in a forgotten spot in the Caribbean. When I was ten my father left to London. He died at sea. When I was 12 my mother and I got very sick. Right before she died she gave me a bracelet. Blue, woven with her family crest, a mermaid wrapped around a shell. My brother James and I were sent to live with our cousin. One day James and I came home to him in the bath with s**** w****. D**d. Then a hurricane hit the Caribbean. James's body was never recovered. I wrote my way out. When I was 15 the island managed to raise funds, with the help of UN I managed to get to a High School in America and was taken in as a foster kid to my favourite teacher, George Washington and his wife Martha. They had a international student named Marquis de Lafayette or Laf who was also an orphan and had pretty much been adopted by Martha and George. They also had a kid named Aaron Burr, two years older than me, who was their godchild, also orphaned. We also had our neighbours the Jefferson's. Just a boy named Thomas, his mum and siblings. Thomas was annoying but ok at the end of the day. And down the road there was the Schuyler sisters. Eliza and Peggy. They lived with their father Phillip and Mother Bianca (I don't know their mums name and to lazy to look it up so Bianca it is) as well as two step sisters Cornelia and Catherine. They apparently had, had an older sister named Angelica but she had been missing since Eliza was twelve and Peggy was eleven. We had all become friends at school (Thomas later) and ended up going to college together. The college was nearby to our houses.

And our story takes us to my second year into college, Aaron's third, Eliza's second, Peggy's first, Laf's second, Thomas's second and George teaching History at the college.

Now it all begins in our summer break...

John's pov

My father was always taught me to stay away from the land. 'You could dry up. You could get caught.' He was the leader of our pod. When I was ten we were visiting an island and a girl saw us. She was on a ship and fell overboard in a storm. My mother died trying to save her. The. Girl begged to return home butt my father refused.. I can't remember how but she somehow became a mermaid. Her name was Angelica. When we were older my best friend Hercules, his cousin James, Angelica, our friend Maria and Theodosia or Theo were sent to protect a island. We were straight up abandoned. We protect a pool in a cave that supposedly has abilities.
