part 6 - last moments...

Khushi entered nani's room slowly with her medicine and a glas of water.

„Nani.." she said and nani opened her eyes from her sleep. She gave khushi a warm smile and told her to come closer.

„I'm sorry nani, i woke you up." said khushi sad.

Nani just shook her head and tried to touch her cheek but she was too weak. Khushi held her hand and told her to not stress herself.

„I've got your medicine, the doctor gave us.."

Khushi helped her to sit up and gave her the medicine slowly.

„La, la please listen to me!"

Lavanya was walking to her room but when she saw nani's door open she stopped and looked at khushi laying nani down on her bed again. Nk saw her and looked into the room. He had a smile on his lips as he saw khushi helping nani, that's what a bahu should do.

„That's respect lavanya. Look at khushi ji, she's helping nani where she can. Even if she knows that the others still didn't forget what she did, she doesn't care about the others. Because angriness comes and goes but respect should always stay." said nk who stood right behind her.

Lavanya felt bad for her behaving and entered the room. She stood next to khushi and helped her laying nani down on her bed. Khushi looked at her and smiled. Nani saw lavanya and wanted to say something.

„Nani you should rest." said khushi.

„Nahi..khushi bitiya.." started nani slowly.

„Lavanya bitiya..you see? We don't even thik about khushi bitiya's feelings when we hurt her with our words or activities. But..khushi bitiya never ignores us. Khushi bitiya..please..never change..be a good grandmother for your grand daughters and grand sons." said nani weak.

Khushi had tears in her eyes and nodded. Lavanya on the other side felt offended. Why is khushi always the best? She ran away from their house and didn't even think about what the people would say.

Lavanya just walked out of the room, khushi turned to look at her.

„La.." said khushi but lavanya just walked out of the room. Nani didn't even care and just closed her eyes as she was exhausted.

„Khushi bitiya..i forgave you. Before i die i don't want to.."

„Nani, what are you saying.." said khushi worried.

„The truth bitiya..i'm feeling that these moments will be the last moments i have in this life."

„Don't say that nani.." sais khushi crying.

Nani tried to whip away her tears but khushi held her hand.

„Nani, you are strong. Please don't leave us now. We need you, think about arnav ji.."

„Haan..chotte has to learn that humans don't live forever." said nani with a weak smile.

But khushi didn't smile at all, she was reslly worried now. What if nani is telling the truth?

„Khushi bitiya, i want you to listen to me now. And if i want you to do something, will you be able to fullfil my wish?"

Khushi nodded slowly and held her hand.

„I want you to never forget how i was. I want you to raise the kids the way i raised anxhali bitiya and chotte, they shouldn't forget me.." sais nani sad.

„I promise nani.." said khushi sadly and hugged her.

„But it's too early now.." said khushi still hugging her.

„Khushi."

Khushi broke the hug and looked at the person who called her. It was payal.

„Jiji?"

„Arnav ji wants to talk to you, i'll take care of nani."

Khushi nodded and let go of nani whipping her tears. When she entered her room arnav was sitting on their bed with arun on his lap. Khushi's eyes were still red from crying, that's what arnav saw the first.

„Khushi? Kya hua?" asked arnav worried looking at her.

„Oh, nothing. I just checked nani.." said khushi and sat next to him.

„She'll be fine." said arnav and continued playing with arun.

„Why did you call me?" asked khushi.

„I called you because you should also spend some more time with our kids. Look, arun started making some baby noices, i think he'll say papa first.." said arnav with a smile and started tickling arun.

Khushi didn't even listen to him since the moment she heared why he called her. She stood up and wanted to leave the room again.

„Khsuhi!" arnav called her with a stronger voice. Khushi turned and looked at him with tearfull eyes. Arnav layed arun in his bed and stood infront of khushi.

„Where are you going? Didn't i tell you to spend time with your kids?" said arnav angry holding her shoulders tight.

„Arnav ji!" said khushi angry too and freed herself from his grip.

„What is going on with you? Huh? Nani is dying is her bed and nobody cares about her? What is going on with you raizadas?!" asked khushi as the female version of ASR.

„What did you just say? We raizadas? You're also a raizada damnit!" when he said the last sentence he held her shoulder again tight.

„And we do care about nani, more than you do. You were the one who ran away without even looking back." said arnav.

Khushi was shocked, was he really thinking about that again?

„Arnav ji, you know why i did that."

„Haan i know but still khushi. You don't have to think that you always know everything. Nani is my grandma, i know when she's okey and when she's not. And right now she's just shocked because of what you did. What you were about to do damnit!" said arnav angry shouting at her and shaking her.

„Arnav ji stop it! Don't shout at me! I know why you're behaving like this. You know you're loosing your mother again, but you don't want to admit it. Haina?"

Arnav just looked at her and let go of her.

„I knew it. Arnav ji i know you the best here. Even if you all are against me, i still will be there for eachone of this family. Including nani."

Arnav showed her his back as he had tears in his eyes and didn't want to show it. Khushi layed her hand on his shoulder and turned him. When she saw the tears in his eyes, she cupped his face and layed her forehead on his.

„Nani needs you now. Don't let her wait, because she hasn't got more time to wait now." said khushi.

Arnav cupped her face too and looked into her eyes.

„Khushi..khushi i don't want to loose her. Not now.."

„Arnav ji.."

Arnav didn't let her finish her sentence and just left the room. Khushi wanted to follow him but arun started crying. She took him in her arms and started to give him some milk as he was hungry.

Arnav was heading to nani's room when he saw payal running out of the room. Her face was pale, as she would have seen a ghost.

„Payal? What happened?" asked arnav worried.

„Arnav ji..voh..nani.." said payal crying.

Arnav's eyes got big in shock and got even more worried.
