A small redhead ran across the halls, looking for her locker. She stopped at a certain locker, only to see that someone had stolen her spell book. That book was important, who could have–
"Looking for this~?" Of course. A purple-haired boy grinned, leaning against the next locker with an amused expression. "O-Ouma-kun? Is that my spell book?!" The redhead yelled, staring at him with an annoyed expression. "Mmm, maybe~! I dunno," He shrugged, playing with the cover of it. "He-Hey! Let go of that!" She yelled, charging at him and trying to pry the book off of his hands. "Ah, ah, ah~ Patience, my amateur witch! You'll get it when you grow taller~!" The boy snickered, raising the book high in the air and out of the girl's reach. The poor girl tried and tried, but no matter what, she couldn't reach it.
"Ouma-kun, what are you doing now?" A brown-haired girl with blood red eyes groaned, staring at the two. "Hmm? Ohh, Grumpy-Pants-chan! What brings you around?" The boy chirped, smiling at her innocently. "The mess coming from near my locker, apparently." The female groaned, glaring at him. "And that mess is?" Kokichi asked. "You." She answered, grabbing his white sleeve. "Stay away from my locker." She demanded, throwing the boy to the other side of the hallway.
Life was always like that for Himiko Yumeno. Everyday she would walk to school with her best friend Angie, and then go to her chaotic class, after that she'd get something from her locker, he would piss her off, and sometimes get thrown across the halls (and miraculously not break any bones in the process) then the cycle would repeat.
"That was mean, Harukawa-chan!" The boy yelled, faking a cry. "Ouma." Kokichi stiffened, slowly turning around to see a teacher. "M-Munakata-sensei!" Kokichi laughed. "Detention."
Himiko sighed. Yup, totally normal.
Himiko packed up her things, and prepared to go home. "Hey." Harukawa spoke. "Wh-What is it, H-Harulawa-san?" Himiko stuttered, wary of the assassin. "...do you...like Ouma-kun..?" She asked, not giving Himiko a look. "N-No! I hate him!" Himiko answered. "Okay.." She mumbled. "Could you...help me with something, though?" She asked. "Nyeh...that sounds like a pain. But...okay. What do you need help with?" Himiko asked. "Well, I-"
"Harumaki!" A tall, purple-haired male yelled. "That." She whispered. "Do you want to die?" Maki glared. "That's cold, Maki. Anyway, wanna hang out?" He asked, smiling. Himiko knew what to do. She grabbed some red glitter and sprinkled it all over them.
"What the fuck?" He stared at the shorter female. "Do you want to die?" Maki growled. "No, no, no! I'm helping you both!" Himiko stated. "With what?" Maki asked. "I like to call that my 'Love Powder'!" Himiko states. "I know you both like each other!" Himiko grinned. Maki blushed. "Do you want t-" "You like me, Harumaki?" He asked. "..so what if I do?" Maki crossed her arms over her chest and looked away. "Then I can declare you as mine!" He chirped, happily picking up Maki and carrying her by her waist. "H-Hey! Do you want to-" He interrupted her threat with a kiss on the lips. She blushed. "What do you say for a date, Harumaki?" He asked with a smile. "..sure.." Maki mumbled, looking away. He put her down and let out a quiet 'yes!'.
"Nyeeeh! You both are happy now, thanks to my magic!" Himiko happily exclaimed, throwing her hat in the air with joy. "Congrats, Momota-kun, Harukawa-chan!" She cheered. "Let's go now, Harumaki!" Momota exclaimed. "N-Now?! I mean..sure," Maki blushed. Himiko could only be happy. "Alright, Harumaki! Let's go!"
The pair walked off, and as they were walking, Maki turned around and smiled subtly at Himiko as a thank you.
"Ah, Angie sees Yumeno-chan has helped someone with her wonderful magic?" Angie, Himiko's best friend, approached. "Nyeh, of course!" Himiko proudly stated, putting her hands on her hips and giving Angie a grin. "Divine! Atua will surely be proud of Yumeno-chan!" Angie clapped her hands together.
"Shall we walk home?" Angie asked, putting her hands on Himiko's shoulders. Himiko responds with a nod.
And so, the duo walked home together. Himiko felt happy that she helped out Maki and Momota today. It was like an achievement, it almost felt as good as doing nothing.
"Hello, my lovable amateur wannabe mage~!" A familiarly cocky voice exclaimed, running up to the duo. "Ah, Ouma-kun! What brings you by in this divine day?" Angie asked, cocking her head to the side. "Weren't you supposed to be in detention?!" Himiko screamed. "I got away~ Duh!" Kokichi states, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "My, my, Ouma-kun! Atua says that you must do your time in detention! And because Atua says that, Angie thinks that is right!" Angie said, pulling out a paintbrush. "Pffft, I owe nothing to detention." Kokichi says.
"Yumeno-chan, wait uppp! Hey, hey! Wait upppp!" Kokichi suddenly exclaims, running to catch up to the Himiko trying to get away. "Dang it!" Himiko screamed. "Atua says it's rude to leave, and that you must learn to hang out with Kokichi!" Angie says. "Atua, why have you forsaken me...?" Himiko miserably spoke, faking a sniff. "How mean, Yumeno-chan!" Kokichi cried.
After that, Angie, Kokichi and Himiko walked home together. "This is Angie's stop! Bye bye! Atua blesses you with safety!" Angie hummed, skipping into her house.
Kokichi and Himiko were left.
"I'll walk home alone, be safe, Ouma-kun!" Himiko waved, turning around to walk away. "Wait." Kokichi spoke, grabbing her hand. "E-Eh..?" Himiko turns her head around, meeting her eyes with Kokichi's amethyst orbs. "Now, it wouldn't be gentlemanly of me if I didn't escort you home, would it...?" He asked. "Lemme escort you home!" Kokichi said. "N-No! It's okay!" Himiko exclaimed. "I insist!" He said. With a groan, Himiko gave up. "Nyeh...what a pain...fine!" She sighed.
The duo walked through the streets as dusk slowly started to dawn on the sky, sugar-colored stars slowly coming into sight as orange melted into the majestic purple color.
"Nyeh..pretty..." Himiko mumbled, staring at the sky. "It sure is!" Kokichi agreed. "That was 'cause of my maaaaagic!" Himiko claimed, putting her hands on her hips proudly. "That's soooo cool!" Kokichi exclaimed, stars filling his eyes.
The two walked along the streets as they had a small chat, until they eventually reach Himiko's home.
Her house was neat, it was made of acacia wood with fences painted in white, and a welcoming aura surrounded it.
"Nyeh...well...this is my stop...bye, Ouma-kun," Himiko mumbled, going to her door painted in white. "Bye bye, Yumeno-chan!" Kokichi waved, before walking to his own home.
Himiko opened her door, got inside and closed it behind her. As she was closing it, she could have sworn she felt something tighten around her small finger.
