Alec walked through the cool night of New York. The streets were empty, only taxis coming in from the late night shift. Lights were out in passing stores, restaurants, and businesses, yet the neon signs still glowed bright.
When Alec left, the sun was starting to set. Now the moon was high above him, and the clock on his phone said it was eleven thirty. He walked all around the city, but kept appearing in front of the Institute or in front of Magnus's loft.
He knew he couldn't go in the Institute were his ex-parabatai was probably either being exchanged for the Mortal Instruments or being killed. When he went to Magnus's, he felt like a place that was forbidden for him to go. It felt like they broke up.
But Magnus didn't say that they broke up. He just said that they need time before they married. Now he walked on a side street by 116th. The air smelled of metal and dirt. Graffiti littered the walls, most starting to chip off.
Alec kicked a red can out of the way, when he felt the phone in his pocket vibrate. He whipped it out and the screen had a picture of Magnus wearing a pink tank top. He opened it and pressed the green button, accepting the call.
"What do you want Magnus?" He asked a little too harshly into the phone. He heard Chairmen Meow purr into the phone and what sounded like muffling, but it could be the television.
"I wanted to say were through Alec," came Magnus's voice. Alec gripped the phone harder as he went stiff.
"Magnus. Why?" Alec felt tears starting to build up behind his eyes.
"Because your weak," the warlock said as Alec stopped walking and pushed his back against the brick wall, helping him stand up. "You run out of the house just because I didn't accept your proposal. I've been hundreds of lovers. Even Richard is stronger then you Alexander." Alec remembered Richard from his and Magnus's first date. He threw wine in Magnus's face and warned Alec that he would brake his heart.
Which has happening right now.
"Magnus. Were will I go?" He felt the tears stroll down his cheek. He suck to the filth covered ground, pulling his legs to his chest.
"I don't give a damn were you go Alexander. You have no one left who loves you. And I burnt all of your objects so you have nothing but the clothes on you back," Magnus taunted. "Good bye. I never loved you."
With that, Magnus hung up. Alec kept the phone to his ear, listening to the beeps. Finally, the phone dropped from his grasp, falling on the ground next to him. He ignored his phone, keeping his hand up to his ear as the tears fell free.
After a while of crying, Alec noticed that a few buildings down, was Hotel Dumort. The sign was old, the paint chipping off. Hotel Dumont was written on it, but a red R was painted over the N, making in Dumort. He quickly jumped to his feet, crushing his phone and ran toward the Vampire's hideout. He ran as fast as he could, feeling nothing but the emptiness in his chest.
How can he do that? He said he wanted to marry me some day, he thought as he walked to front doors of the old Hotel. I lost everything and he broke up with me.
He pushed open the doors and entered the dark lobby. The doors closed with a loud bang, making the black haired boy jump. Soon, fifty or so vampires appeared in front of him. A female walked toward him. She had dyed blue hair and had asian features.
"What brings you were Shadowhunter," she said with a hissed. Alec took a deep breath, controlling himself in front of her.
"I am no longer a Shadowhunter. I lost the angel blood in my veins earlier today," he chocked out, trying not to cry. "I have lost my family. My true love." He looked down at the Nikes at his feet, that were now covered with New York grime.
